Evaluation of Field Experience Students Performance

Overall I was pleased with how my lesson turned out in the classroom. The format of the
lesson followed the routine the students are used to which allowed the lesson to flow smoothly. I
believe that my objectives were met and that the students gained a better understanding and
appreciation for Harriet Tubman. The students thoroughly enjoyed the video which I believe
helped to put the sensitive topic in perspective for them. Looking back on the lesson, one change
I would make would be to keep the students on the carpet for the worksheet. When the students
went back to their seats they lost focus and started to fool around. Whereas on the carpet they
were engaged and attentive to the lesson. Overall, both my cooperating teacher and I were
pleased with the lesson, and it is definitely one I would consider using again in the future.
