CHILE

Chile has an interesting and somewhat controversial past with the

educational system, but has now become the leading country in Latin
America and is envied for its high enrollment rates and literacy rates!

Chiles educational system

used to be very traditional. The
men were expected to go to
school and become educated to
become a successful part of
society. Women were not
offered education. The laws
changed, but the schools did
not obey them until later on in
history. Now enrollment is
equal and girls enrollment is
even higher in some places.
Chiles educational system is
currently 44th out of 65
countries. Because the school
system has improved,
enrollment rates and
graduation rates have
improved !

Chiles educational system has
greatly improved from its
former laws and regulations.
The literacy rate has risen to
96% in adults and around 99%
in teens ages 15-24. Women
are equal to men and have a
higher enrollment rate
surprisingly. The educational
system is divided into the
following parts, preschool (not
mandatory but free), primary
school (mandatory), middle
school (mandatory), and higher
education.
