A Bobcat Loader with a 4 cyl. Diesel engine ran at a fixed throttle for 8 hours a day. Hourly fuel consumption rate, gallons per hour (GPH), was computed for each run. To investigate efficacy different numbers of IR ceramics were used during testing and hot air from exhaust pipe was redirected to increase the ceramics temperature. The GPH data for various configurations are drawn against a baseline of 1.387 GPH in the following graph.
