Modeling of the Concept


The students and teacher will complete the first suitcase
to show what they will be doing in their small groups.
Guiding the Practice
While the teacher and students are completing the
example, the teacher will answer any questions that
students may have about what they will be doing.
Providing the Independent Practice
In small groups students will be give a manila envelope
or a suitcase with pictures inside. The groups are to
work together to figure out the main idea of those
pictures and record their answer on the main idea sheet.
Adaptations/Accommodations for Students with Special Needs
Small groups will allow lower functioning level students
work together and still learn the material.

4-5 similar pictures for each envelope
Summary & Review of the Learning
When groups are finished, each will share their findings
with peers and the teacher.
