USING
DEVELOPMENTALLY
EFFECTIVE

Candidates

that
teaching

is
a
complex
enterprise,
and
its
details
vary
depending
on
childrens
ages,
characteristics,
and
the
settings
within
which
teaching
and
learning
occur.
They
a)
understand
and
use
positive
relationships
and

interactions
as
the
foundation
for
their
work
with
young
children
and
families.

Brief
Description
of
Evidence:
As
part
of
my
ECED
243
Cognitive
Curriculum
course
during
the
fall
semester
of
2014,
I
came
up
with
ten
activity
kits
that
help
the
children
learn
more
alphabet
skills.
I
researched
ideas
on
Pinterest
and
went
out
to
get
out
some
materials
to
help
make
them.
I
also
made
sure
I
at
least
had
one
handmade
item
in
each
activity.
Most
of
the
class
either
did
this
or
made
many
pinterest
boards
having
to
do
with
other
activities
for
children.
We
shared
them
in
class
so
we
all
could
get
ideas
for
our
future
classrooms.
Analysis
of
What
I
Learned:
I
learned
how
to
make
different
kits
for
children
that
will
help
them
learn
about
shapes,
colors,
or
ABCs.
I
also
learned
that
you
can
use
these
activities
over
and
over
through
out
the
classroom.
Through
the
presentation
of
other
groups
projects,
I
was
able
to
learn
more
about
other
DAP
approved
activities.
I
learned
how
to
create
environments
that
are
healthy,
respectful,
supportive,
and
challenging
for
each
child.
How
This
Artifact
Demonstrates
my
Competence
on
the
NAEYC
Standard:
By
completing
the
project
I
now
can
provide
different
activities
that
are
DAP
approved
for
my
future
classroom.
I
can
also
promote
child
development
with
the
activities
I
chose
to
make
about
the
alphabet.
These
kits
remind
me
of
Piagets
theory
that
describes
the
cognitive
development
for
children.
There
are
four
stages
and
the
children
are
on
the
Preoperational
Stage
in
preschool.
In
this
stage
children
are
able
to
think
about
things
and
events.
Children
learn
through
touch
and
these
kits
give
them
an
activate
role
in
learning.
