Stephen F. Austin Basketball - 6A Texas Division
Player (9th), Varsity Manager (10th - current)
Season 10 hrs/ week, Offseason 7 hrs/week, 40 weeks/year
-9th grade, I played on the freshman basketball team. I was one of 16 who
made the team out of 50 who tried out.
-10th grade, I became a part of the Varsity team by becoming the team
manager. We were bi-district champions, and made it to the second round
in the 5A State Playoffs. I filmed, collected the stat sheets, and
represented the team.
-11th grade, I was a part of Varsity basketball; we were second in our
district and made it one round into the 5A State Playoffs. I filmed the
games and charted the stats, along with representing the team.
-12th grade, I am currently part of Varsity basketball. I film the games and
charted the stats, along with representing the team.

DeMolay
DeMolay is a Masonic organization for people under the age of twenty
one. We do volunteer work with the community, participate in ritual
competitions, collaborate in groups for team games, and address current
issues in a government style fashion in order to develop civic awareness,
personal responsibility and leadership skills.

Councilor (12th)
2hrs/week, 20 week/year
- The Scribe is appointed by the Master and Senior Councilor. The Scribe
aids the organization by managing and keeping detailed notes of the
actions that took place.
-Junior Councilor is the third highest rank in the individual lodge. They
are appointed by the other active members of the lodge. They oversee
membership, contact members about events; assist other councilors and
lead the lodge in the absence of both Master and Senior Councilors. Master Councilor is the highest position in the chapter. They are elected
by the rest of the chapter and have regular meetings with the advisors.
The Master Councilor serves a six month term. The Master councilor
directs the chapter's meetings and services, along with recruiting new

members. The Master Councilor schedules all the meetings of the chapter
and leads the rituals.

Academy for Global Studies


The Academy of Global Studies is an organization that pairs with schools
worldwide. They incorporate a global perspective into classroom learning.
They plan trips for schools to different countries for volunteer work.

Purdue PREFACE camp


A minority engineering camp at Purdue University focused on exposing
underrepresented populations to STEM fields. During the one week event
at Purdue University, we created several projects, explored the campus,
and designed objects using CAD software.

- Won 1st place in the design of the guitar against 12 other teams

National Honor Society
The goal is to honor students who excel in leadership roles within their
community, develop character, and give service to their community.

My Introduction to Engineering (MITE) camp at The University of


Texas at Austin
A program at the University of Texas focused on exposing students to
STEM fields, mainly underrepresented minorities. One hundred students
are accepted into the program and split between two weeks in the summer,
where we attend classes and built machines at the University of Texas.
During the week, they exposes the attendees to a variety of STEM fields,
such as Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, along with many more.

- Attended 6 day residential engineering camp
- Had interactions with engineering students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Worked in a group to design, build and run a MITE Machine, a Rube
Goldberg machine
- Developed a proposal and presentation for the marketability and
performance of our MITE Machine
-Created and performed a commercial and skit to advertise product
-Won 1st place in the machine competition against 10 other teams

MIT MOSTEC Engineering Camp


Attendee
An intensive online engineering camp at The Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. I was 1 of 240 who were accepted into one of three
programs, out of over 1500 applicants. They focus on exposing students to
more specific projects in STEM, like neuroscience, mobile app
development, and aerospace. There is a one week conference, where
students travel to MIT to present their projects to the other members. At
the conference students also attend classes on other STEM fields like
Ocean Engineering, Computer Science, Fluid Dynamics, and many more.

beginning of August

- Designed several mobile apps, which I then presented at a one week
conference
- Wrote a science paper on sustainable design and LEED, consisting of
three interviews and hours of research
- Attended classes on Ocean Engineering and Fluid Dynamics during the
conference.
- Attended online meetings on the college admissions process for some of
the top schools in the nation
- Written online blogs about our applications or world
Austin High Latino Partnership
A program that started my senior year dedicated to helping unite the
Latino community at Austin High. We do service in the community,
attend leadership summits, and fundraise to raise awareness for the club.
