In the context of this article, the authors talk about the stressors of any occupation, but
they narrow the topic down to the police field. Workers Compensation is given only to work
related stress, yet work can cause stress in a household. The police field on its own is an
intimidating occupation; therefore the officer may be under stress. Being a police officer,
different obstacles will appear every day at every job site, which is why stress can be common in
the police force. However due to personality traits of officers coping may be different for

everyone. However, it may be genuinely complicated to cope with an event. This article will be

The law enforcement deals with great loads of stress due to the mental work that is
involved in this occupation. Stressful work normally results in mental stress, which can be
helped by workers compensation. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights works to protect
against the unemployed. Due to studies, four areas are commonly found to affect police officers
stress, which are: the job field, direct contact with the community, the criminal justice system,
and personal lives. Stressors can cause negative effects on a person, emotional exhaustion, and
reduced satisfaction with his or her job. Even though the police field is different from other
public workings, the stress could be caused by similar situations. Therefore, this article will
benefit the research paper because of the ways that stress is found and how it can be dealt with in
the occupation.

The occupation of a police officer can be extremely stressful. Policemen are exposed to
many dangerous situations that their lives are put on the line. However, many other stressors may
not come from the duty of the job. Studies have shown that low levels of live quality are

expected to have higher levels of stress. The physical demand of a police officer may cause
mental and physical stress. The uncertainty of making it home alive is another difficult stressor
to deal with not only for the officer but his or her family members. Therefore, the physical and
mental abilities that stress can interfere with may change the performances and make the person
unsatisfied with him or herself. Therefore, this article will be beneficial to the research paper by
showing how the police officers stress and what can cause stress for them.
