1. INTRODUCTION
You can now integrate Gantner gates, a biometric system, with Legend software.

1.1. MAIN FEATURES

There are three new Legend features which allow for a smooth integration with Gantner:

Visitor memberships
Prompts to remind the user to record the members finger print
Exit gate checks (ACM)

Certain agreements can be flagged as Visitor memberships. ACM can be configured to only allow entry through certain
gates, and visitor barcodes can be reassigned. The intention here is that a temporary wrist band is assigned to the
member for their visit, and they will be forced to use a wrist band return gate to leave the centre.
Agreements can also be set to prompt the Front of House user to record the members fingerprint when changing their
barcode.

2. CUSTOM CLIENT CONFIGURATION

You will need to download the latest version of Legend Custom Client, available from www.legendware.co.uk/download.
Once you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Legend Custom Client, run Custom Client, right click on the
icon and select devices:

Click Edit and highlight the Gantner option on the left of the screen:

You can see that a number of options are already configured by default. Tick the Enabled box to enable. You will then
need to enter a unique device ID and a Parent Device ID.
The text that will appear on the GANTNER device can be configured here, in the TextExitAllowed, TextAccessDenied,
TextEntryAllowed and TextLockerInUse fields.

Click Save, and launch Legend Custom Client >> Devices again. You will now see the GANTNER option in devices:

Click Configure, and you will be taken to the Gantner Devices Configuration screen:

Click Add Device. There are three types of device:

GATAccess an entry gate

GAT Return an exit gate which includes a wristband return
GATWriter6000F the small wristband reader

Select the appropriate device type, enter the device ID (this must match the gate number in ACM to work correctly) and
the IP Address provided by GANTNER. If you are unsure of your IP address, download the GAT device finder (available
from http://ftp.gantner.com/hotlinefreizeit02/ForAllDevices/GATDeviceFinder_V020500.zip) and install. Run the device
finder, search for devices and the appropriate IP addresses will be displayed.

Once all your devices have been set up click Start Device. As long as the state of the devices is Started the gates will
integrate with Legend and respond to Gantner wrist bands. If you wish to prevent a gate from responding for any reason,
click Stop Device.
If you finish your configuration at this stage then Gantner wrist bands will be recognised by Front of House, and open the
gates as per your existing gate configuration.

3. LEGEND CONFIGURATION
The configuration below is optional; it details setting up Visitor memberships and Fingerprint required memberships. If
you only wish to use gates to control access to the centre as a whole you can skip this section.

3.1. VISITOR MEMBERSHIPS

Agreements can now be marked as Visitors. Once an agreement is marked as a Visitor barcodes will be temporarily
assigned the intention here is that a visitor will be assigned a wrist band for the day when they enter the centre and
then use the wrist band return device to exit the centre. The visitor will not be able to exit the centre without returning
their wristband. The wrist bands can then be taken out of the return device and reused the next day for other visitors.
Permanent members will not be able to use the wrist band return device to exit the centre; they must use a separate exit
gate so that they keep their wrist band.

3.1.1. AGREEMENT SET UP

To mark an agreement as a Visitor open Control Panel >> Agreement Management and select the appropriate agreement.
Select the Is Visitor option:

3.1.2. ACM SET UP

Exit gates can be set up to allow or deny access, based off whether the member is a visitor or a permanent member. To
mark a gate as an Exit gate open ACM >> Location >> browse to the gate >> Edit Gate and select Exit from the Gate Type
drop down. You will then see options for exit types select the type you want to be granted access through the gate.

3.1.3. ASSIGNING BARCODES/WRIST BANDS

To assign a temporary barcode/wristband to a visitor browse to the visitor in Front of House and select Options >>
Change Barcode. Set the barcode as you normally would. You will be able to reassign a visitors barcode at any time if
barcodes/wrist bands are handed back in you can just assign the barcode to the next visitor and the previous visitors
barcode will be reset back to match their membership number.

3.2. FINGERPRINT REQUIRED MEMBERSHIPS

Agreements can be marked to prompt Front of House users to capture members finger prints when changing barcodes in
Front of House. To enable this open Control Panel >> Agreement Management and select the appropriate agreement.
Select the Requires Finger Prints on Registration option.
The next time a member on this agreement has their barcode changed in Front of House, the user will see the prompt
shown below, reminding them to capture the members finger print.
