Objective
To obtain employment in Secondary Education English Language Arts utilizing my passion
for teaching critical literacy through dialogic instruction and enthusiastic student
engagement.

Standards as well as fulfilling the Know, Understand, Do template of
Southfield Public Schools
o Successfully familiarized students with a new E-Textbook and designed
lessons grounded in online assessment and use of this new technology
o Adapted culturally-relevant lessons that drew from existing student literacies
in order to foster better student engagement and understanding
o Adapted lessons and teaching practices in light of Special Education students
and English Language Learners within the classroom
o Established successful, consistent classroom management skills and
procedures
o Applied dialogic teaching practices to the classroom and reflected on the
results using research-based methods
o Created and maintained a class website containing assignments, writing
prompts, study guides, and class presentations.
o Communicated with students parents/legal guardians via email and phone in
order to build relationships and provide students with additional support.
o Created all summative assessments for the year, including Midterm and Final
Exams.
