19 On March 29, 2007, Defendant St. Paul Mercury Insurance Company (“Defendant”) filed a
20 Motion to Shorten Time to Hear St. Paul’s Motion for Leave to Amend Admission.1 Plaintiffs
21 opposed the motion. Based on the motion and the file herein,
22 IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the motion to shorten time is GRANTED, except that
23 Defendant’s motion will be heard April 17, 2007,2 Plaintiffs’ opposition shall be filed no later than
24 April 12, 2007, and no reply papers may be filed. Although Defendant failed to act with reasonable
25 diligence in filing its motion to amend its response to the request for admission, the court

1 nonetheless finds there is good cause to shorten the time for hearing the motion so that District Judge
2 Ware may be apprised of this court’s ruling on Defendant’s motion for leave to amend the admission
3 before he spends time reviewing the parties’ cross-motions for partial summary judgment.
