I believe that it is important for students to know my rules and expectations at the
beginning of the year so there is no confusion at a later date. The process of discipline is useful
so students know what to expect in the classroom. Specific behaviors may call for further
punishment, but for average classroom behavior goofing off this process is very useful.

Classroom Procedures
Beginning the class
1. Teacher will greet the students to become aware of anything that needs to be brought to the
teachers attention. (Attitude of students, are they clean, etc.)
2. Attendance will be taken in a fun and engaging way to interest students in beginning their day at
school.
3. Check for any questions students may have about the previous lesson and review to make sure
students fully understand the topic of discussion.
Various parts of the classroom
1. While in desks during a lesson, students will be focused and quiet.
2. Follow rules specific to certain centers of the room. Reading area is quiet and books are put away
neatly.
3. All areas of the room should stay clean and organized. Students will be required to clean up after
themselves.
Transition times
Lupu 3
1. Transition is a time to sharpen pencils, gather materials for the next lesson, and use the bathroom
and drinking fountain.
2. This time should be quick and quiet to provide for more time on task.
3. Talking should be very limited in order to keep this time short.
Other school areas
1. Students will stay seated in the lunch room. This will prevent spills and messes caused by
children bumping into each other.
2. In other classrooms materials and people will be respected.
3. Students will be supervised at all times to prevent goofing off, disruptions, and damage of school
property.
During class time time on task
1. Students will be prepared with the proper books, papers, and writing utensils required for each
lesson so class can be run smoothly and efficiently.
2. Attention of the students will be aimed towards the teacher for instruction. This will limit
questions students frequently ask because of lack of attention to instruction.
3. Students should remain seated during class time and raise a hand if they have a question or
statement to make to the class.
Ending class
1. All materials will be put back in place and the classroom will be orderly to allow for class the
next day to begin smoothly.
2. Planners, announcements, and (or) homework in order and prepared to be taken home so parents
know of upcoming events and any homework the students have.
3. The teacher dismisses the students. NOT THE BELL. This will prevent students from losing
focus towards the end of a lesson.
