Dear Parent(s) and Students,

Time management is a very important skill for every individual to possess when going
out into the real world. Todays students are very well rounded and participate in many
extracurricular activities outside of school. In order to help students not get stuck with a lot of
homework on nights when they are really busy outside of school, I have created the Warriors
Week at a Glance. In the Warrior week at a glance, the learning target/objective for the week will
be listed, with the five day plan for the week. This weekly plan allows the students to see the
content that will be covered over an entire weeks period and what homework will be due the
following day. Students will receive this weekly plan at the beginning of each week and it will be
their responsibility to stay up on their assignments and finish them in advance if need be.
Students will be able to pick up handout(s) in bins that will be labeled with each day of the week
and have the materials that we are using for that day. I am flexible and I know if a student has a
weekly sporting event, practice, meeting, etc. it is difficult to make time for homework. This
program will also help students who know they are going to be absent allowing them to pick up
their work ahead of time and possibly complete it before being absent. While this plan will
initially help students manage their time it will also give them the opportunity to notify me
beforehand if they know their schedule will not permit them to finish their homework for the
following day. I would rather have the students well rested, alert and ready to learn then
extremely tired, which will hinder their learning in the classroom the following day. This plan
will have all graded assignments (highlighted) listed on the week at a glance sheet, but the
student will not be able to turn those papers in late without a point deduction. Homework, that is
based on effort put forth, is the only homework were a student can notify Mr. Stotts that it cannot
be completed in the time frame given and will be given an extension without a point deduction.

system. I know that homework based on completion is the only piece of work that I can turn in
late without a point deduction to my grade. If Mr. Stotts is not notified beforehand the homework
will not be counted and will be a 30 minute study session with Mr. Stotts following school. This
is the time where I will complete the homework.
