To Whom It May Concern:
I have a great amount of respect for Shadany Arcos as a student and as a person. As a student, Shadany has
shown great academic prowess and leadership skills. Shadany has shown leadership skills in doing whatever
needed to be done for the betterment of the school and her class. For example, Shadany has taken the initiative
to run successfully for Senior President this year and has already started to construct a positive culture amongst
the senior class as their leader.
I have known Shadany as a student for two years as she has been a model student in my Leadership and Math
Analysis Honors classes last year and now in my AP Calculus class this year. Last year, I was immediately
impressed that she took learning in mathematics so seriously and admittedly wanted to be challenged. She took
on the challenging course material and consistently wanted to improve and learn. Shadany has always shown a
great academic focus, and an interest on preparation for college. She is continuing her hard work and success is
mathematics despite the advanced coursework this year in Calculus and I can tell that she is not only going to
be well-prepared for the AP test with her dedication and work ethic, but she will also be ready to succeed at the
next level in college.
Shadany is also a very well rounded individual, who has many talents beyond the classroom. As I mentioned
previously, Shadany is now the Senior class President and has participated in multiple events and has played a
key leadership role for her class, but Shadany also has an incredible relationship with every one of her teachers
and every one of her peers. The biggest step that Shadany took last year was when she took on the challenge of
being the inaugural President of the schools Interact Club. In this position, Shadany has created a strong
interest in supporting the community through service amongst her peers, evidenced by having 53 students
show up at the first meeting; the largest group of any Interact Club in our district. As Interact President,
Shadany is also going to be helping plan and organize the Los Angeles region breakfast later this spring, which
adds to her impressive list of accomplishments and responsibilities. She is a model student who always has a
positive attitude that rubs off on her peers, making everyone around her that much better.
For her many outstanding personal qualities as well as her self-motivation, determination, and success
academically, Shadany embodies the qualities one hopes to find in anyone seeking to further her studies at any
post-secondary institution. Her intellectual maturity is clearly evident to those who have taught her; the variety
of activities with which she is involved attests to the diversity of her interests and self-directed eagerness to
participate and contribute. I recommend Shadany Arcos to you enthusiastically, and hope you will consider her
application favorably. I believe she will flourish in an intellectually stimulating college-community, and any
college campus will benefit from her presence.
