Task 5 Teacher Talk

Focus: teacher talk instruction-giving & positive


reinforcement
To realise how the teacher uses language in the classroom to give
clear instructions and to offer praise and motivation. Student
teachers have looked at how the teacher manages the classroom, the class
and the learners. This week, they will develop their understanding of how
teachers use their talk to give clear instructions and to offer positive
reinforcement (praise) to their students.

At the beginning of the day:


- Meet your MST, and learn about his/her daily plan
- Same daily routine but everyday different

activities so if students enjoy or benefit then in


the next day they put the same activity every
Tuesday MST and Arabic teacher site together
to do weekly plan .

Tell your MST that your focus for today is to notice teacher talk that
(s)he uses in the classroom during the day.
Tell your MST that you also need to observe ONE or TWO activities. You
need to pay very special attention to the beginning of Tell him/her that
during these moments, you will not participate. You will sit out and just
very quietly look, listen, complete your task sheet.
Ask your MST which lesson, in particular, would be good for
you to observe

Get involved in all of the other activities that are happening

MST started her class by said good morning for


everyone in the classroom and told them you were
the best students in the world. Today MST gave
students new lesson it was about transportation.
She started the lesson by said " today we will take
about transportation and I want everybody make
some sound of each transport " so students came
more excited and everybody made sounds , after
that she said I want all of good boy and girl to site
on the carpet , then she gave them steps of what
will do in this lesson . first she showed them some
picture , second she tried to made some sounds ,
after that she gave them some paper to draw on it
how they come to school , then she told of all
students you were the best class and I was happy
to teach you. I think that if I will give students
positive praised like tell them you are good
students or excellent will be easy to me but the
difficult thing when I will put the instruction and
students dont follow it , so in this time I should
change the style and way of my teaching. When
teacher dont give students the instruction she will
not cover everything and maybe she forget
something also students will not enjoy because
they dont know what they will do later. I
remembered that when I was in grade 8 my weight
was 75 so I was fat and I decide to be in digit and
my cousin told me you cannot lose it you will
become fat again so I feel disappointed but I broke
her word and I tried to do it , and now my weight is

57. Also I remembered that when I was in delivery


room my mum was with me and she told me you
should never shout when you do the push and after
I delivered my baby she told me something made
happy and proud of my self-front of my husband,
she told me you are so strong and you didnt shout
and control yourself.

My answer was not deep because Arabic teacher
was absent and English teacher doesn't do many
activities
