Now lets practice making Graphs:


Equipment: Ice, Stop watch, 2 Thermometers, 2 meter stick, Microwave, Scale, 1 to 2 rulers, Paperclips,
Baskets, Backboard

1. Each Group performs their experiment and collects the data.


2. Write the data on a table in word. Make sure you label you table. One per group. Your
teacher will place on a Public share for all to use.
3. Graph YOUR data by yourself on a piece of graph paper.
4. Graph all of the data from the other groups in excel by yourself.
5. Complete the chart at the end of this handout.
Group 1: Measure all of the shoe sizes in the room in cm.
Group 2: Take the average of study time for 10 students.
Group 3: The birthdays (Month) and age of everyone in the class.
Group 4: Measure the hand span of all of the students in the room on a ruler from pinky
to thumb and see where they fall on the following intervals?

Group 5: Check the reaction rate of at least 10 students in the room. 5 boys and 5 girls.

Group 6: Take the temperature of a volume of water. Add an equal volume of ice. Take
the temperature every thirty seconds for 5 minutes.
Group 7: The time needed for each student to make five baskets using paper clips and
little black baskets. Test 7 students.
