Dear Diane Muscat,
First, I would like to thank you for the opportunity for accepting me as a student on your
Geriatric unit. During my time on 6WEST, I have developed many new exciting skills, which I
would like to continue to utilize as a team member on your unit. I am competent in my care and
continue to promote patient safety and optimal health. I am dedicated and enthusiastic about
learning while maintaining a positive altitude. The most memorable experience I have gained
while working on your unit was performing tracheostomy care which included suction, oxygen
administration, dressing change, cannula change, and oral hygiene. It was a good experience for
me as I have never performed trachestomy care before. I was also given the opportunity to work
with a respiratory therapist while performing suction. I believe I would be an asset to your team
as I continue to engage in quality assurance through development of self reflections and learning
plans.
