This summative assessment is to see second grade students understanding of how
communities change and deal with problems that arise, as well as how individuals
shape their communities. This assessment will assist the teacher in determining if a
student understands why communities grow and why they shrink. It will also
assess their comprehension of a timeline of events of a city, which might include
population growth.

Teacher Instruction
This assessment will use multiple choice, fill in the blank, and true or false questions
to evaluate the students knowledge on the topic. Once I hand out the assessment
please put your name and date at the top of the paper. After I grade the assessment
we will be able to go over the test and you can ask questions. This assessment will
have a total of 20 questions with each question being worth 1 point. This will be
done individually. Each section has its own set of instructions so make sure to read
those prior to starting each portion. You will have as much time as you need to
finish the assessment and following the exam please work on other homework first
and if that is all done you may read or sit quietly. Once everyone is done I will collect

the test. If you have any questions stay seated and raise your hand and I will answer
anything you might need help on. You may now start. Good luck and take your time!
