MONDAY, MARCH 16th, 2015

TRANSITION Mindfulness Activity (5 min.)


Needs: Bell
1. Stand, close eyes and listen to the bell ring. Raise your hand
when you can no longer hear it. (Do this 3 times).
2. What did you notice about this? You had to listen really hard!
3. Now that we listened, we will work on our Spidey Senses
4. Stand or sit and listen. Will take 30 seconds to just listen and
then will share what you heard.
5. Hear loud noises? Quiet ones? There are so many things we
miss when were talking it is amazing when we really
listen!

THURSDAY, March 26th, 2015


Mindfulness Activity Listen and Feel (5 min.)
1. Go outside and sit
2. Remember when we listened and named all that we could
hear?
3. Now will do things that hear and feel
4. While we do this, we will breathe
5. Practice In, 2, 3, Out, 2, 3
6. Close eyes and concentrate
7. Go inside and (draw?) describe
8. This is something we can do to calm ourselves down and
helps us know the world better by listening well

MONDAY, APRIL 5th, 2015


Mindfulness Activity Trace the Starfish (5 min.):

Sit at desks
Make a starfish with hand on table
Trace starfish with other hand
Breathe in as you trace your hand and breathe out at the
end
Close eyes and do this 5 times
Breathe in 2, 3, 4, 5, breathe out
What did you think? How do you feel?
This is a way to relax your body and mind if you ever need to

THURSDAY, APRIL 8th, 2015


Mindfulness Activity - 12:35-12:45
1. Have students sit at their desks
2. Going to listen again to the bell, and raise your hand when
cant hear it anymore
3. Now bring your hand down to your stomach or chest and feel
your breathing
4. Breathe in, breathe out we will do this 10 times
5. Sit and listen with your eyes closed
6. Ring bell to end
1. Talk about what it was like
