Stop Cyberbullying by Sara Alberty Moran

Bullying can happen for by many reasons some of them maybe difficulties at home or in
classes, lack of attention from peers, and to be seen as though or cool or in charge. The lack
of attention from peers may make a bully the way they are. You may already know but bullying
is unwanted, aggressive behavior to a person or people. Even though you dont mean to bully
you might be, just posting a picture of your friend that they didnt want anyone to see is bullying.
Other forms of bullying include threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or
verbally, and excluding a person from something like a group or event. When someones bullied
it can lead to depression, low self-esteem, health problems, poor grades, and suicidal thoughts.
There are many other forms of bulling one would be cyberbullying. Cyberbullying can happen
from your backyard to anywhere in the world. This is a serious issue in everyday life.
Cyberbullying is used on any network technology. When a peer is being cyberbullied you can
help, stop, and prevent.
Cyberbullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by
sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. To cyberbully means you are hiding
behind a screen of some network technology and making fun of someone. Cyberbullying is
anonymous so no one knows who you are. This type of bullying can happen 24/7 because its
everywhere. Kids that are cyberbullied are most likely bullied in person as well as online.
Cyberbullying is a frequent thing that happens since 2010-2011 the school crime supplement said
that 9% of students in grades 6-12 are cyberbullied. In 2013 the department said that 15% of high
school students are bullied online this includes grades 9-12. Cyberbullying is growing rapidly
so it was hard to take a survey of this information. said the department. Cyberbullying may not
just effect the one its directed to it may hurt other as well. Effects of cyberbullying would be the
use of alcohol and drugs, skip school, experience in-person bullying, are unwilling to attend
school, receive poor grades, have lower self-esteem, and have more health problem.
Cyberbullying is the main issue but there are also little forms of cyberbullying that
include cyber-harassment and cyberstalking. Cyber-harassment is when an adult is involved
maybe. This is a crime that can have legal consequences and involve jail time. Cyber-harassment
is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual, a group, or an
organization. Cyberstalking is the repeated use of electronic communications to harass or
frighten someone, for example by sending threatening e-mails. If this ever happens you need to
report it right away to your parents and get help. This is a serious crime that people can have jail
time for so dont delete the messages and act like its nothing. Keep proof of this and go get help.
When some ones being cyberbullied there are signs to look for such as unexplainable
injuries, lost or destroyed clothing, books, electronics, or jewelry, frequent headaches or stomach
aches, feeling sick or faking illness, changes in eating habits. Kids may come home from school
hungry because they did not eat lunch, difficulty sleeping or frequent nightmares, declining
grades, loss of interest in schoolwork, or not wanting to go to school, sudden loss of friends or

avoidance of social situations, feelings of helplessness or decreased self-esteem, and selfdestructive behaviors such as running away from home, harming themselves, or talking about
suicide. How to help someone who is being bullied there are steps to this that need to be taken.
The way you can check if a kid is cyberbullying be Aware of What Your Kids are doing Online,
establish Rules about Technology Use, and understand School Rules on computer. Report bullies
to your teachers. You can repot Cyberbullying to Online Service Providers, to Law Enforcement,
and to schools.
Cyberbullying can happen from your backyard to anywhere in the world. This is a serious
issue in everyday life. Cyberbullying is used on any network technology. When a peer is being
cyberbullied you can help, stop, and prevent. Cyber bullying is a horrible issue and needs to stop.
Help people; look for signs to see if someones being bullied. Report the people that are be mean.
This can get so bad that even the law gets involved.
