Composing in Context
The social issue of cyberbullying greatly affected the mood of the video. The effects of
cyberbullying on victims are scary and serious and the mood of the video reflected that. Fonts
are very professional to show that cyberbullying is a serious issue. Audio throughout the film is
typical horror movie music, to help show the horrors of cyberbullying. The colors of the film are
dark to represent the aloneness of victims. Research done for the video helped the group
understand how serious the social issue of cyberbullying is. One of the main challenges for the
group was figuring out the order of the different parts in the video, so the video effectively
portrayed its purpose to the audience. The audience greatly affected the decisions made on this
challenge. To convey the information to the audience their attention must be on the video.
Therefore parts of the video are put where they are to gain the attention of the audience so the
videos purpose can be conveyed effectively.

Process
The social issue of cyberbullying was selected because two group members had done their
cultural analysis proposal on cyberbullying. Therefore most of the research on the topic had
already been done and two of the members had well thought out perspectives on the social
issue of cyberbullying. The most challenging part of the project for me was acting on camera as
a victim of cyberbullying to help define and show cyberbullying to the audience. I strive to be a
confident person in life, however this role required for me to act unconfident. Therefore it was
challenging to act true to the role of the character. The groups process for completing the remix
project consisted of sharing of ideas and discussion about the ideas brought up to create an
effective video.

Research
Sources that did research on cyberbullying and could provide facts and statistics on
cyberbullying were helpful for the video. Sources of shared stories of cyberbullying were useful.
Sources that only gave their opinions were not helpful for the video.

Collaboration
To effectively convey the social issue of cyberbullying through the video, the group brought up
ideas and perspectives for parts of the video. These were discussed by the group to figure out
the parts put into the movie and how certain aspects of those parts would be carried out. The
editing of the video was done by Dillan Solanki, who brought knowledge and skills in movie
maker to the group. Working in groups for the remix project brought more ideas, perspective,

and interpretations on aspects of the project. This helped to create a more effective video to
convey its purpose to an audience.

Project Management
The proposal at the beginning of the project help organize the groups thoughts and ideas on
how to design and create the video. However, this was vague and aspects of parts of the video
needed to be created. Typically, this were idealized and created during the creation of the
specific part of the video. To improve the process of creating the video more specific planning
for parts of the video should have been done prior to creating that part.

Documentary Design
The part of the video that most effectively conveys its purpose is the scene showing an
overdose of a victim of cyberbullying. The showing of death can gain the audiences attention
and show them a severe consequence of cyberbully which shows them how serious of an issue
cyberbullying is. The scene is then backed up with a supporting fact. Decisions on the parts of
the movie and their placement was decided through discussion in the group. Certain aspects of
parts were argued on until most of the group decided which point was most effective for the
video.
