Well Being/Mana Atua

Belonging/Mana Whenua

Malak is two years old. She has settled


very beautifully in the over twos
classroom after the holidays. She is very
independent in feeding herself and in
choosing activities for herself.

Malak has developed relationships with all


her teachers and enjoy sharing news and
happenings from home with all of them.
Malak uses English and Arabic with the
teachers.
Malak is a very social and friendly girl
who easily initiates and joins others in
play.

Contribution/Mana Tangata

Communication/Mana Reo

Malak has a lot of empathy and likes to


help others, being first to comfort any
friends who are upset. Malak understands
routines and enjoys taking responsibility
for self in washing hands.

Malak is two years old. She is bilingual using


both Arabic and English. Her communication
is developing beautifully. She knows lots of
English and Arabic words. She understands
when teachers communicate in English with
her.
Malak uses Arabic at home and is supported
by T. Huda at school.

Malak participates easily and understands


the English and confidently joins in the
larger groups.
Exploration/Mana Aotroa
Malak loves art and messy play. She loves
sensory exploration and often chooses to
join the play dough station.
Malak is beginning to develop the
disposition of responsibility and is
beginning to take more responsibility for
her learning and belongings.

We will continue to support, encourage and


extend Malaks Arabic and Islamic
knowledge as we support her culture and
develop her identity and confidence.
We will continue to support Malaks friendly
and caring nature by following her interests
and creating environments that nurture
communication, contribution and
exploration.
We will focus on Malaks verbal
communication and disposition of
responsibility for her learning and self.
