As Director I was responsible for all aspects of the child care center. It was my
responsibility to see that the children received high quality care in a nurturing, safe

and clean environment while paying particular attention to the curriculum, set
goals, staff duties and requirements set by DHS licensing standards. Also, involved
parents by communication, meetings and volunteering. I also did many different
administrative duties such as (but not limited to) invoices, filing, billing, looking up
different class room curriculum, childs intake paper work, postings, update
procedures and ordering supplys. Helped to oversee a nutritional program and
maintain guidelines of the Child & Adult Food Care Program (CACFP). This was a
newly licensed facility under DHS and DES. I Brought in First Things First to enhance
the quality and teaching of the center. Also, brought in through FTF, Smart Support
and Nurse to help with the teachers to train and broaden knowledge on the health,
social and emotional aspects of the children.

As an Instruction Assistant, I performed record keeping and basic clerical duties. I
developed lesson plans as well as reinforcing classroom objectives. I followed State
licensure guidelines as well as adhering to NAECY accreditation standards. I worked
closely with parents in regards to their child/childrens individual needs and kept in
close contact with them via e-mail, phone or personally. I was a liaison between OT,
PT, and speech therapist. I helped train all new staff and worked with them directly
on how to implement specialized classroom needs for the Autistic children through
the TEACCH program. I assisted in home settings upon request and encouraged
positive behavioral, social, and emotional skills as well as working on trying to
strengthen their daily living skills.
