T his site was mentioned in the latest issue
of School Library Journal. The site
provides access to information gathered and
analyzed over an eighteen-year period from
petitions to southern legislatures and country
courts filed between 1775 and 1867 in the
fifteen slaveholding states in the United States
and the District of Columbia.

Shaina Ray is interning this semester in the

lesson with her. She can also conduct an
inservice for faculty members. Welcome

Collaboration
This semester, the library staff created a form
that formalizes what we already
do when you bring classes to the
library – collaborate. The form
includes literacy standards that we
can teach to the students. Tally
Pruett filled out a form when
bringing students to research
British authors. Irene taught the students how
to use DISCUS and why DISCUS is a good
source for research. Gorgi Lipsey collaborated
with us and is bringing her students in March.

African American Book Carts
W e pulled books from Black History
Month and created three carts. Each
cart circulates for one week. If you are
interested in checking out a cart, please contact
Irene Tighe.
