I thought about club in which adult goes. Finally, when I decided to do my internship, I had no

that challenge and enrich their minds, bodies and spirits. It provides a safe place to channel
energies into positive, challenging activities that encourage personal growth, learning,
community involvement and healthy living. Services are affordable to every child and
financial assistant is provided. Boys and Girls Clubs (2015)
Challenges: The main challenge that Boys and Girls Clubs face is money. It does not have
enough funding to run programs and buy supplies. It is hard to find special grants in the area
that the club needs them in, and lot of it collaborates are giving less now because of the
economy. There are many different grants available to fund Clubs programs, but they have
specific guidelines that are harder to meet.
Interns Role:
I was told by my site supervisor that the boys and Girls of greater Dover has never have an
intern before , which means there is no pre- assign assignment for intern. He did ask me what I
want to learn. I sat down with him and his assistant and we came up with some things that I
want to learn like creating and compiling reports, learning how to enter information into a
database, working with leadership to develop new fundraiser for annual fund, developing skills
to complete Grants for Boys& Girls Clubs and staff supervision.
Finally, Boys and Girls of Delaware is transforming life of young people in the community. It
was not easy to find some of the information, but I work it out by asking them to my site
supervisor and assistant.
