I will extend the activity by having the children a piece of their own paper if they
cannot share the one, splitting up the grass and other supplies on the table.

1.

Introduction/Motivation/Set Induction: How will you get the childrens

attention?
I will get the children motivated by asking them what they see growing outside?
Hoping they say flowers. I will then describe to them what we are going to do and
let them know that we will be making our own flower garden.

2.

Nurturing/Teaching Strategies Procedures: What are the steps you will take to
conduct this activity/experience?
I will encourage the children during the activity to work together, sharing the
common materials amongst each other. I will also encourage the children to talk
amongst each other about what they are making, and the color they are using.

3.

Closure: How will you know its time to end your activity?

I will ask the children to look around their house and see if they find any flowers. I will
put some of the outside grass and flowers in a bin for the children to use on their own.
4.

Transition: How will you prepare the children psychologically or physically for
what will occur next?

I will transition the children by having them sing the clean-up song with me and wash
their hands.

5.

Developmental Variations: What modifications will you make for an

individual(s) or group(s)?

Instead of using their fingers, children will be able to use paint brushes if they prefer.
I will provide small objects and large objects for the children advanced in fine motor
skills and still working on gross motor skills.
