miss class, it is your responsibility to get your materials from this website. Additional help
can be found with your study buddy.

Rules:
Our classroom follows the CHAMP method. Each letter in CHAMP stands for the category of behavior. C is
for conversation. H is for help. A is for assignment. M is for movement. P is for place. The student is to
follow CHAMPs stated rules. If the student does not comply with them, the following will occur:

Attendance & Tardies:

Our classroom follows the school policy for these topics. Note that 3 tardies equal an absence, which is
important come exam time. If a student in 1st period comes in late and does not have a bus note, she will
have to go to the main office to record her tardy. Students will also have to make up class time for a
certain number of absences. Please read your handbook to be certain of the aftermath of your actions.
Cell phones:
Cell phones for students are not allowed out in Ida Goode. If I see a cell phone out during an unauthorized
time, I will take the cell phone for the day. If this happens again, the cell phone will be taken to the office
for the parent/guardian to pick it up.
Grades:
Bennett follows a 7-point scale, and you will find the grade letter breakdowns on the wall of the
classroom.
Bennett classes have the same average percentages for grades. 25% of your quarter grades are
tests. 25% are projects. 25% are 25% are class work.
Bennett has a SOAR policy. Students who dont do as well as they would like are able to do a
separate assignment for up to 93% to replace the less desired grade. Students have 3 days from
the day the assignment was returned to have remediation (tutoring) and to SOAR on her
assignment. If she fails to remediate or take the assignment, she loses the opportunity to SOAR. An
assignment that is not done results in a 0 for that assignments grade. Students should only use
SOAR as a last resort.
Late Work/Absent work:
If you are absent, you have 2 days to make up the work that you have missed. If you have an assignment
due the day(s) you were absent, you must turn it in the day you return.
If you turn work in late, you have 2 days to turn it in with 10 points taken off the grade per each day it is
late. I will not accept work that is 3 days late, and you will receive a 0 for that assignment.
