Ursiny Family

2006 Present
(summers and Holidays)

Childcare Part-time
I have had the privilege of being a caregiver for three wonderful children at the Ursiny residence.
This care giving experience has taught me very much about patience and proper team playing
skills. It has also grounded me when it comes to empathy and compassion for other families
with disabilities. One of the three children that I gave care to has a special need and requires
more than just babysitting skills. I would not have changed a thing. This position in my life not
only grounded me but opened up a whole new world to me.
Yanek Family

Summer 2014

Nanny
I have had the privilege of being a traveling nanny for two energetic children in the Yanek home.
I traveled with them to Colorado, Nevada, California, and Hawaii. This experience taught me
about flexibility, nurturing, and time management. The younger child was 5 months old, and the
older child was four. I learned how to give each child the proper care and support necessary for
positive development. Also, with traveling I was allowed to share new experiences with the
children that brought new learning opportunities to them. This was an amazing summer that
helped secure my faith in becoming an educator and child care provider.
Marince Family

Fall 2014-Present

Care Giver
I am currently a caregiver for eldest son in the family, who has mental and physical disabilities. I
provide daily service or over-night help whenever other members of the family are traveling. My
responsibilities with him are to help him daily routines, such as dressing, eating, and personal
hygiene. I have learned a great deal him, being that he is non-verbal. I learned how to pick on
queues when something is needed. I have also learned to think outside the box pertaining to
activities that can be done with him. He has provided many learning experiences for me, and I
really enjoy being around him. The rest of the family has also taught me many things in order to
help make my responsibilities easier.
