Police Mentors Presented

with Chairmans Valor
Award
On Thursday night in Afghanistan, four men were honored with
the Chairmans Valor Award. This award is the highest form of
recognition given by DynCorp International. These four men were
awarded this award for their astounding courage during an enemy attack and their support of the Afghanistan
Ministry of Interior and Afghan National Police Program.
During the attack, Harry William Harp administered first aid and transportation a U.S. soldier, which in turn
ended up saving his life. Similarly, David Holmes also administered first aid and provided transportation for
three U.S. soldiers who were under attack in the village he was located at. David Lyons and Lemuel RiveraGonzalez provided shelter for Afghan and U.S. colleagues who were under fire in a local village nearby.
The four men were presented with this honorable award by DynCorps vice president John Gastright and
Steven Shugart. "These men - and brave personnel like them - are key to the success of those missions." said
Shugart.
"This medal reflects the core values of our company: we serve, we care, we empower, we perform, and we do
the right thing," said Gastright.

We Serve Today for a Better Tomorrow.

DynCorp granted 20 million for

Aviation Programs
Since its humble beginnings in 1946, DynCorp International has been a large supporter
in aviation training and equipment. Because of that, the United States Air Force has
granted DynCorp International a 20 million dollar grant to further their aviation
technologies and develop better ways to advance aircrafts for the U.S. Air Force.
The 20 million will be used to hire more aviation professionals and engineers, develop
state of the art weaponry to advance the technologies offered by the Air Force and to
develop and create more aerodynamic planes for the military and for commercial use.
The whole project is predicted to begin early 2014. The U.S. Air Force will be working
with DynCorp side by side to assure that only the best ideas are brought to life. With
this grant, it is estimated that most commercial planes will receive a major overhaul
both to the engines and the bodies.
