To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Danielle LaVille, for this teaching position.
I have known Danielle since May 2009 and I am a course instructor at Michigan State University. I
had the wonderful opportunity to work directly with Danielle during her Internship Program in Fall
2014. Danielle was a student of mine in the MSU Elementary Teacher Preparation Program course
TE 801 (Professional Roles and Teaching Practice 1: Elementary Mathematics Methods).
Danielle was an excellent student in my mathematics methods course. She actively contributed to
class discussion, provided thoughtful reflections, and completed assignments on time and with great
effort. She has great communication skills, both written and verbal. It was very evident how much
value she placed on her coursework and internship opportunity because it was completed with
genuine thoughts of her students in mind. In addition, Danielle had an excellent attendance record
and she was a great asset to group work for in-class activities.
I also had the opportunity to see Danielle teach mathematics to her Kindergarten placement at
Challenger Elementary in Kentwood Public Schools. Danielle was very positive and encouraging of
her students. She worked hard to actively engage all of her students and sought out different ways to
explain mathematics. She viewed her students as individuals with individual needs. She planned
many activities and tasks of varying difficulty level, which she effectively used to enhance all of her
students' learning of mathematics. I also reviewed many of Danielle's lesson plans and each of them
were very thoughtful and were created with her students' needs in mind.
I think Danielle would be an excellent addition as a teacher at your school. From what I have
observed of her in a teacher's role and as a student in my class, she would be an asset to your current
team of teachers. Her past as a hard working student will make her a dedicated teacher. Her effective
communication skills and ability to play a variety of group roles in various situations will allow her
to easily interact within the school community as a professional. Her experience as an elementary
intern/teacher will help to guide her as she leads her classroom through learning and exploring
various subjects and topics. And, her outpouring, genuine care for her students will make her an
outstanding teacher who is appreciated by students, parents, and staff. I have complete confidence in
her abilities as an elementary teacher at any school that she chooses to apply.
I highly recommend Danielle for this wonderful opportunity. She is an exemplary teacher and
student. She is the kind of person that will be an asset, anywhere she chooses to go.
If you need any additional information about Danielle please feel free to email me at

Thank you very much for your consideration of Danielle.
Sincerely,
Lauren Cavner Williams
