Reflection 3
The first week of a new month for March and a new activity that was untraditional was
introduced. Pickle ball is no ordinary sport, in fact almost the entire class had no idea what the
sport entailed. Already the thought process began to sink. I already knew that this was going to
be a interesting week due to introducing a sport no one had any idea of performing. To begin
Ms. Xiamora spent a great deal of time explaining what pickle ball is. Using the sport tennis was
a good example to use because the students were able to depict the similarities between the two
sports. The whole objective was for the students to execute to skills for back hand serve/hit. The
fact that the back hand in the sport tennis is very similar it wasnt difficult at all for the students
to perform the skills. The organization however was a little difficult to keep into play. By using
the painted four squares as boundaries each group of partners were stationed in different squares.
Within the four squares the kids were required to perform the back hand for pickle ball and pass
it back and fourth to their partner without the ball leaving the boundary. The boundaries were a
little small for the kids to play pickle ball so keeping the ball within the required amount of space
was the hardest part.
