Week 5/6
Reflection
During this week in Tiger Pride the ETs were required to fill out two observational
forums due to spring break. For Ms. Xiomora the content for the lessons for the two days were
very similar. The main objective for the lesson was for the students to obtain the skill for kicking
and passing a soccer ball. On the first day Ms. Xiomora introduced the cues of the skill for how
to properly dribble a soccer ball and pass a soccer ball. After explaining how to properly dribble
the soccer ball, the students were placed in groups lining up in a single file line behind a set of
cones. The students within each group will take turns by dribbling in and out of the cones only
using the inside of their feet. The same feature was emphasized on the passing, where students
had to properly pass the ball to each other by using the inside of their feet. Same concept was
applied on the second day where the students would practice their dribbling skills only using the
inside of the foot but there was a catch; the students had to be blind folded. The students were in
pairs of two and they had to take turns wearing the blind fold while the student who isnt blinded
would have to help guide the other student around. It was an interesting little activity for the
students to participate in, however the participation rate was really high this week. The students
were participating and having a good time, although the beginning the lesson on the second day
two of the students acted up and started rough housing each other.
