Name of Project
We can easily define the what by just answering the question, What
outcome are we hoping to achieve?
Contrary to popular opinion people arent motivated by what we want
them to do or how we want them to do it. People, including ourselves,
are motivated by understanding the Why of a project. Only when we
define the higher purpose of the project is it possible to get people
committed to it.
A reason why should be powerful and meaningful. Your team wont be
inspired or excited about unimportant work so it is your job to help
them understand why the work matters.

Objectives are easily defined by describing what you want to achieve

with a numerical goal and a date you wish to achieve it by. By making
your objective measurable and including a timeline you will ensure that
your team knows where it is heading, how far they have to go, and
when they get there.
An important part of selling your project to others is being able to
articulate what the project outcome will look and feel like when it is
done. Because people have the capacity to visualize results it is
helpful for us to paint a picture for them which they can use to
understand the desired result.
Deliverables are the main outputs of the project. These are big pieces
of the project.
One important aspect of preventing Scope Creep is to set limits on
what will and wont be done in the project. To do this we simply need
to explicitly list the things we will do and the things that is the
responsibility of others.
The end of the Project Development process and beginning of the
Project Planning is signified by agreement from the internal and/or
external client with a simple signature or initial.

Hannahs Brain Cancer Walk/Run

To create an event that will attract great community support, be fun
and stand the test of time.
The Bellingham Brain Cancer Run/Walk was the dream of Hannah
Dashiell, who died on January 5th, 2014 at age 17. The Walk was
Hannahs senior project, her grandfather died of cancer in 2007, and
she dreamed of bringing the cancer walk to Bellingham to celebrate his
life. Since this meant so much to Hannah it means a great deal to her
Mom, Jeannette; Dad, Dennis; little sister, Maddy ; and extended family.
We are doing this walk to celebrate Hannahs life and to honor her
family.
Host the first annual Bellingham Brain Cancer Run/Walk on May 5 th
(TBD) with 1000 entrants, 20 sponsors $15,000 raised for cancer
research.
The Bellingham Brain Cancer Run/Walk will be light, sunny and fun.
With music, food and competition for all ages, friends will gather from
all over Whatcom County to support cancer research and celebrate the
life of Hannah Dashiell.
