Lesson
Overview/Rational Creativity is around every corner in this society. It is
e
on the radio; it is on the television; it is involved in the
students everyday life. Descriptive writing is an
important part of creative writing. The main reason a
personal narrative is important is because it gives a
strong sense of where the students are creatively and
shows their initial knowledge of descriptive writing. In
addition to the narratives the students will learn how
give and receive constructive criticism through the
peer edits.

A rubric will be used to evaluate the students use of

descriptive language and sensory details. In addition
students will also be evaluated on proper spelling and
grammar. Furthermore, the peer reviews will be
mandatory as a part of the rubric. The paper must be
presented in a comprehensive way that insures that
the paper and events appear in a chronological format,
and the introduction and conclusion must also fit with
the rest of the details involved in the narrative.
