surfaces.

Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students:
Students will either see a description of the surface or the name of the surface
and need to recall the opposite, ie if a student is shown "It's composed of
undeformed sedimentary rock layers. Makes up most of Georgia's region" then
they would need to recall that this description belongs to "Costal Plain." They may
check their answer by flipping the virtual flash card.
Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions? :
Yes
No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)
Immediate Corrective Feedback:
Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display the
correct response to the class after the SRS activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? The format of this SRS requires that students are self quizing
and thus the correct answer is most always shown. In some cases of activities
there will be other forms of quizing, such as a matching activity in which students
must match the desription of the land's surface to its description.
Use of Data: What data will be collected as a result of this activity. How will it be
used and by whom? (For example: Will information collected from this activity be
used to award a grade? Will the individual information collected be shared with
students and/or parents to help them monitor individual progress? Will you
discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the whole class to help them learn?
Will you use data to differentiate instruction for students? If so, describe how. )
Students will be asked to take a screen shot of their results and email the teacher
that shot in cases of matching or other activities available. There will be a case of
having a homework grade taken, since there needs to be acountability of this
studying occuring.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: Students should become
more comfortable in their knowledge of Georgia's surfaces and feel prepared to
test on the topics.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What
are you trying that you have not tried before? What do you hope to learn from
this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn? You must design
something that will help you learn something new! Honor System!) A personal
learning goal would be that I could encourage students to learn at home and gain
at home study skills in an intersting and perhaps even entertaining fasion. One
thing that I am trying new is creating these flash cards from new. I would have
liked to have included pictures but unless I were to pay for the website I have no
way of being certain that the images they provided are truly of the places being
studied by the students. I hop to learn how to create SRS lessons and reviews that
ingage students to truly learn the topic.
