Presentation Techniques roles

Production Booklet

You will be producing a studio based show and will need to demonstrate your ability to present to a certain
audience that suits your style of production.
You will need to discuss and demonstrate thorough understanding of the roles you will be carrying out
ONLY (not all roles listed).
News Presenter, Broadcast journalist, magazine programme presenter, lifestyle programme presenter,
documentary presenter, chat show host, game show host
Ideological issues e.g.: A BBC news presenter; class implications in the standard Received Pronunciation
and the relationship of this to ideas of authority.

News Presenter
Describe their job
Their job is to present the news, to inform the audience of the news that has happened in the past 24
hours or less. They are meant to clearly report the news so the audience can have a firm understanding
of what has happened
What skills do they need to do their job
One particular job needed is to be a very good reader as the script will come up with a auto script.
Execution is very important as the audience need to have a good understanding of the news and know
what has happened. Also good body language is good as it looks a lot more professional
What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?
The news preseneters beliefs could come across in the their presentation and they have the ability to
put their own twist on it, this is seen a lot on Fox News, where the presenter can influence the news and
the audience may believe this.

Broadcast journalist
Describe their job
A broadcast journalist is someone who goes out and gets the news, so they collect the information, do
the interviews, and write up and present their own news. They are in charge with what they do so they
can choose how many interviews they would like on their subject, and how they go about presenting it.
What skills do they need to do their job
In this job you would need to be a very organised person, and have very good planning skills to sort out
what you will need, and what you need to do, then put the information you have together and come up
with your own way to do it. It could also require some creativeness in how you could make a article
with the information that has been given to you

Production Booklet

What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?

Their ideas on the realted topics could easily come up easily as the journalist has the freedom to have
their own ideas influenced in their news. So for example if they were talking about Wayne Rooney and
that particular journalist didnt like him, he could then suggest that he isnt a good player as everyone
thinks, then people could see this and also think the same which could influence the audience.

Magazine programme presenter

Describe their job
A magazine programme presenter job is to report that isnt necessarily important, their base is to report
news about celebrity culture. Things such as what they are wearing, who they are dating, whos
pregnant, news that isnt hard hitting but its entertainment related.
What skills do they need to do their job
Theyll need to be relaxed and be and natural, so the audience watching can also feel relaxed and hear
entertainment news relaxed as it is not hard hitting news. A skill needed would also be to good infront
of camera and a good sense of body language because things such as someone being pregnant needs to
be overdramatized by the presenter.
What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?
There are ideological issues around this as the presenter has the freedom to have their own say on what
has happened, so for example if Rihanna wore a bad dress, the presenter could refelect that and give
their own opinion saying look at the dress it makes her look fat. The audience would then think does it
look bad and question and come to their judgement their selves.

Lifestyle programme presenter

Describe their job
A lifestyle programme presenters job is to tell the audience what is happening and narrate whatever is
happening. For example with my big fat gypsy wedding
What skills do they need to do their job

Production Booklet

What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?

Documentary presenter
Describe their job

What skills do they need to do their job

What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?

Chat show host

Describe their job
A chat show hosts job is to explain, inform, and develop on what has been said. A chat show will have
guests on the show and their job will be to ask them questions for whatever reason they are on the
show, to then get information out of them so the audience know.
What skills do they need to do their job
A chat show host must be very good in front of camera and entertaining, the delivery of questions must
be exquisite. They must also have the ability to keep the interview flowing, so come up with questions
to then ask to what they said.
What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?
There wouldnt be much issues with a chat show host as the show will have to be stuck to the script
and along the same topics. But the host may now and then give his own opinion on something and
influence the current mood of the programme.

Game show host

Describe their job

Production Booklet

What skills do they need to do their job

What ideological issues are there around their presenting style?

Research 3 different types of presenting techniques that fall into your genre. You must add links; discuss
how it is suitable for chosen medium, identify the style and the audiences and then discuss the intended
effect on the audience
Techniques / style: Chatty
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F8lc1g8x98
Suitability for chosen medium:
This is suitable because it is football related, it is a football chat show which discusses the opinions of
guests on football and also talks about their life.
Audience:
Football fans, more towards young football fans with guests that come onto show and content used.
Intended effect: Educate, inform, entertain, impress
The effect is to entertain the audience with the context involved

Production Booklet

Techniques / style: Chatty/Informal

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQIgJcvpKB0
Suitability for chosen medium:
This is suitable to our studio production because it is a football related programme where two hosts
are sat down with 2 or more guests and talk about a specific football macth as they are at the game,
but also cover different topics like we do in our show.
Audience:
The audience is for all football fans, as it contains pre match discussions about both teams that are
playing.
Intended effect: Educate, inform, entertain, impress
Inform, entertain
Techniques / style: informative/ chatty
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o24RAZPeqNg
Suitability for chosen medium: this is also very ideal because it is about all the football sides in the
premier league and every team gets dicussed, similar to our show. There is also a panel of four guests
who come every week to watch the 3pm premier league games and say what is going on. Ours is
similar because we are talking about football in a way which this show would

Audience: all football fans would watch soccer Saturday, informs us all of the results and what they
think of the game as we cannot watch 3pm games.

Intended effect: Educate, inform, entertain, impress

Informative, entertain, educate

Proposal: Put a proposal together explaining the sort of presenting style you will use and why relating it
back to your target audience and subject (work with team)
The sort of presentation style we will have is chatty, but also factual as we will be talking to our guests,
but also providing statistics to back up our points. This will relate to our target audience because we
have the information required to make good points about football such as the point tally for Chelsea,
fixtures coming up. Our subjects cover the race for the title, and the battle for top 4, which are two of
the main talking points in the premier league which suits our target audience perfectly as football fans
will want to listen to these things being dicussedm this also gives the chance of social interaction.

Production Booklet

Script: Now you know your styles; guests and topic you must put together a script for your show focusing
on your target audience, genre and style of show. Communicate with your team and make sure all have the
same script
You will need to produce two versions of your script. These will demonstrate your ability to develop ideas,
record your progress and create complex, timed scripts to work from during your final show.
First draft of script
Use Courier or Courier New
1 page per minutes
Final Draft
Using a highlighter show what has changed since your first drfat. Write a small paragraph to explain these
changes.

CHELSEA
CAMERON
WITH US TONIGHT WE HAVE A MANCHESTER UNITED, ADAM NEVILLE, AND A WATFORD
FAN, JAMES GILMORE, LADS NICE TO HAVE YOU WITH US THIS EVENING, HOW YOU
BOTH DOING?

Production Booklet

WELL ITS BEEN A EVENTFUL SEASON SO FAR, CHELSEA CURRENTLY RUNNING AWAY
WITH THE PRMEIER LEAGUE at CURRENT BUT THE PREMIER LEAGUE ALWAYS MANAGES
TO SURPRISE US, DO YOU THINK CHELSEA WILL CLINCH THAT TITLE?
BEN
Do you think Mourinho has restored that resilience at Chelsea and got
the team that he actually wants now? You could tell last season that he
wasnt quite happy with the team hence big departures of Mata, Torres.
Luiz, Demba Ba, Etoo all gone, do you think he now has HIS team?
CAMERON
One big reason that Chelsea have done so well this season is due to being Diego
Costa. 17 goals already, Chelseas strikers alone last season managed 19
premier league goals between them, costa already has 17! How much of a impact
do you think Costa has had on Chelsea this season? This always has seemed to be
a problem for Chelsea over the last few seasons hasnt it? Not having a striker
scoring 20+ goals a season.
CAMERON

We talk about Costa, but the person who has really made them tick as a
team is Fabregas, 15 assists already in the league, certainly made a
impact hasnt he this year for Chelsea. Also not to forget Matic who has
been the solid base infront of the back 4 for Chelsea who allow hazard,
Oscar and Willian to go do what they want.
BEN
So who would you stick your money on for the title? Will Chelsea clinch
it or do you think city could mount a comeback?
WELL CHELSEA ARE RUNNING AWAY WITH THE PREIMIER LEAGUE TITLE AT THE
MOMENT BUT DO THE FANS THINK THEY WILL SECURE THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE?
HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE HAS COSTA AND FABREGAS MADE? OUR REPORTER

THEY THINK!

RACE FOR TOP 4

SPURS, ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL, MAN UNITED, SOUTHAMPTON
CAMERON
Well Chelsea fans definitely think they will win the premier league!
Moving on from the title race, its the topic we always talk about every
season and thats the Champions league places, who will get it? Who
wont?
5 teams all competing for 2 places, we could be in for a interesting
finish couldnt we?!
BEN
Southampton have shocked us all this season, manager goes, key players leave,
new manager comes in and new players come in, whoever expected them to be this
good?

Production Booklet

BEN
Do you think they can still go on this form for the remainder of the season?
There has been a lot of doubters saying they can slip, okay they have lost a
couple of games in recent weeks but still only 4 points off 4th spot, still
have a chance dont they?
BEN
Do you think the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal stand a better
chance? All three of them have much bigger squads
CAMERON
Do Liverpool miss that one player who can do something special? Of late
Coutinho has become pivotal for them but Like a Suarez for them last season,
with Spurs having a bang in form striker in Harry Kane, and also Eriksen who is
providing goals, Sanchez for Arsenal, do you think this could not be
Liverpools year and may miss out? Theyre unbeaten in there last 10 games, and
have not lost a game in 2015 in the premier league.
CAMERON

Sturridge came back and scored against west ham and it was a well taken
finish, talking of English strikers, Harry Kane is in Blistering form,
has the most goals in all competitions out of any player in the Premier
league with 26, above Sanchez, Costa and Aguero, along with that only
Ronaldo and Messi have more goals than him in all competitions in Europe
BEN
Well as well as Kane, Eriksen has won 13 points for Tottenham, and
scored more goals than any other midfielder in the premiere league with
9 goals, how important has he become for Tottenham?
CAMERON
Well just of the Champions League places, recently lost in the league
cup final, Spurs have always been one of these clubs with potential but
at the last minute let you down, in the last couple of seasons the
players have been criticized showing no passion, no character, and
especially by former manager Tim Sherwood, (look to MAIN CAMERA) let us
just show you this interview again that happened after the Chelsea game
last season.
(TIM SHERWOOD INTERVIEW, CHELSEA AWAY 13/14)
(Reaction to Sherwood)
As we saw their Sherwood clearly wasnt happy with the players, but now
with Mauricio Pochettino, they sit 3 points of Champions League
football, its fair to say not everything has been perfect for Tottenham
after last season, but with Pochettino bringing through the likes of
Harry Kane, Bentaleb, and Ryan Mason, things are definitely getting
better for Pochettinos side!
(TOTTENHAM CLIP 3:04)
he has made changes bringing in homegrown academy players in Harry Kane,
Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb. Spurs have looked a different team havnt
they?!
Well aswell as Harry Kane, one player who has become very important for
Tottenham is Ryan Mason, hes been at the club for a while, is 23 years
old and has had many injurys. and now he is one of Tottenhams most

Production Booklet

important players, starts attacks, runs everywhere, puts in a tackle,

how important has he become for this team?
BEN
Onto Manchester United now where its been a year to forget for the club
with their lowest finish in the league last season. But with Van Gaal as
manager, are the glory days just around the corner?
(UNITED CLIP 1:35)
BEN
Well obviously united were very active in the summer, Van Gaal coming in
and spending over 100 million, big additions such as blind, di maria,
Falcao, Shaw, Herrera, what have you made of there season so far Adam?
BEN
with United they have an unbelievable attack on paper up there with one
of the best in the league, but do you think it would be fair to say that
they havnt hit anywhere near the heights of what people expected to? 8
goals for Van Persie, 3 for Falcao, Rooney now playing deeper but
recently seems to be playing more foward, Di Maria hasnt been anywhere
near as good as what fans were expecting, this isnt good enough for a
club like United is it? Especially when you spend that much money.
BEN
Under Moyes last season its fair to say that United didnt play well, it was a
different united side, and it clearly didnt work for him, united havent been
brilliant this season but sit in 4th place, do you think Van Gaal can restore
the glory days at old Trafford?
CAMERON
Recently critsism has come united way by suggesting that the play has been abit
slow, not enough speed in play, to many back passes, also Sam Allerdyce
described their 1-1 draw as Long Ball United but still seem to be picking up
points. do you think this is something they need to change? Will they make the
Champions League?

BEN (DUBBERY LIVE PHONE CALL)

WELL TALKING OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WE HAVE AN EX CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINALIST
AND FORMER CHELSEA CENTRE BACK MICHEAL DUBBURY ON THE PHONE, HELLO MICHEAL HOW
ARE YOU?
1) Hows your time been since retirement?
2) Are you still involved with football at all? Or are you taking a deserved
break?
3) Now you started your career at Chelsea, and finished it at non-league
Hendon, how big is the difference in football between these leagues.

4) Ill ask you about your time at Chelsea. How good was it for you to come
through the ranks at a premier league club who were improving season by
season, did you find it harder than you thought to get into the first
team?

Production Booklet

5) After making your debut in 93/94, you had a loan move to Bournemouth, how
valuable was this in terms of first team experience as a youngster?

6) You made more appearances for Chelsea than you did any other side, but
you were also there for a longer amount of time. Was it difficult to
leave the club on a permanent basis?
7) After leaving to go to Leeds in 99, you went on to go and play in one of
the most famous nights in Leeds history. Talk me through that. What was
it like to be part of in the game against AC Milan?
8) A lot of players say that the champions league music alone gets you in
the mood for that type of game of its size. What was the stand out factor
for you? Was it AC Milan or something else?

9) After this game, you didnt play again for the rest of the season due to
injury. This meant you missed out on the Champions league semi-final
against Valencia. How difficult was this, and when did you find out that
you would be out for so long?
10)
The Champions League is huge to any team in the world to just be
part of. How good was it, looking back now knowing youve played on the
biggest club stage in Europe?
11)
The Champions league is the best of them all, but the Premier League
is amazing also. What do you make of your time in the top flight?

12)
Whilst in the premier league you played against some of the worlds
best ever players. Who was your most difficult opponent?
13)
Do you wish you could have played alongside these players for your
country? Was there ever an opportunity for you to play international
football?

14)
Going back to your playing career at Leeds. How difficult is it for
you to look at them now, knowing the struggle their going through with
their league position, and the chopping and changing of managers?
15)
As an ex club of yours is struggling, another is flying. Chelsea
seem to be the runaway leaders, how much of an asset is Diego Costa to
them?
16)
Chelsea suffered an embarrassing defeat to Bradford in the FA Cup
the other day. Could this potentially be a positive thing, given the
fixture build up this time of year? Will less fixtures allow players to
concentrate on winning the league?
17)
Was the poor result down to lots of changes within the squad? 7
players were brought into the starting 11, could a lack of first team
action/ fitness be the reason they suffered the defeat?

Production Booklet

18)
Mourinho said it would be a disgrace if they lost the game. And they
did. What's the worst feeling you've ever had after a game of football?

19)
Well finish with your time at Oxford. How did you find it in League
2? What was the clubs aim for the season when you first joined?
20)
The fans are the heart of any club, how did you feel when you did
the double over rivals Swindon?

21)
What was it like actually playing in a derby? Do players take into
account what it means to the fans?
Michael, thank you for your time. One final question. Whos going to be your
Premier League Champions?
Thank you very much micheal and good luck for the future!

WRAP UP

CAMERON

Purpose of Interview 1:
What is the purpose of this interview?
Purpose of this interview is to discuss what is going on in football, speak about the latest things in
football and get opinions off Adam.
The purpose of this interview is to also entertain and inform the audience of opinions of what topic
we are talking about. For example when we speak about Chelsea in our show we ask questions
and Adam is sat there like any other pundit offering his opinion on what he thinks and we ask
questions to build and relate to what he just said. This then makes a really good show if the
consistency and flow is spot on. Our purpose of the interview is to also get the audience hooked to
what we are saying.

Circle which of the following formats it will be;

Lifestyle magazine article
Lifestyle television or radio Programme article
Television or radio documentary
Childrens news website
Commercial blog
Local television news
National radio news,
Reality television contestants

Add research demonstrating the format of this interview (ie a magazine layout, or an interview chat
show on TV)

Production Booklet

Planning for Interview One

Interviewees Name:
Date and Time of interview:

How will you record the interview?

With cameras, there are 3 cameras which will pick up everything that has been said.

In what medium (audio, visual, written etc) will the final interview be presented?
This will be visual as cameras are recording the two guests, and will then be put into a final
production.
What information do you need to get from this interview?
We are not looking to obtain information, but this show is to gain the opinion of two fans and
create a topic of convosation, we want to ask questions to what the two guests think to recent
events in football, and build on questions around that.

Describe how you are planning on contacting and liaising with your talent (interviewee)
Our phone interviewee was contacted via Facebook Messenger, we will send the questions to him
also aswell and all planning of the phone interview has been made via Facebook Messenger.
Adam and James were contacted by text message and the interview has been organized thorugh
this way, and other lists of things to do will be contacted thorugh text or face to face.

How will you make sure unnecessary sounds etc are not recorded?

Production Booklet

Through the editing process these can be cut out to make sure the final production looks as
professional as possible and sound as professional as possible, also this will be hard to happen
because we are in our studio and not many random noises will happen.

If visual recording, explain how you will deal with any issues caused by ambient light.
If there is issues with the lighting then this will be addressed quickly as possible and lighting will be
corrected and we will start again, this may mean going back to the start but we understand that
everything needs to look perfect.

What equipment will you need to carry out this interview?

We will need cameras, tripods, vision mixer, headset, microphones, props, tables, chairs, lighting.
All these things are essential to make a good multi camera interview and do a professional job.

Question: Hello, Lovely to have you with us on Extra Time this evening , Today we
have a Manchester United fan and a Liverpool fan so we could be in a tasty show?
So lads, what you think to the football this weekend?

Likely Response:
A:Yeah well good result for xxxxx and what a game the
xxxx game was
B: another good weekend of football again, a very good
result for xxxxxx and it will be good to see how they can
kick on

Next Question: as always the premier league suprises us, the magic of football eh?
The title race is getting hotter every weekend, Chelsea on xx points, City on xx
points, Guys, who do you think will come out on top?

Likely Response:
A: I think Chelsea, they have to much strength in all areas
and with costa and fabregas, I think they are just to strong
B: I think City are still in it and they have the capabilitys to
do, I think aguero coming back into the team has been a
big boost for city

Next Question:
Do you think Mourniho has restored that resilience at Chelsea and got the team that
he actually wants now? You could tell last season that he wasnt quite happy with
the team hence big departures of Mata, Torres. Luiz, Demba ba, Etoo all gone, do
you think he know has HIS team?

Likely Response:
B: Yeah well I think hes got rid of players who werent
going to do it for him, Mata is a good example, its either my
way or your out.
A: well you can tell with players hes brought in that the
Slick Mourniho is back, who looks happy again and I
defiantly think this is more of his squad now

Question: One big reason that Chelsea have done so well this season is due to
being Diego Costa. Xx goals already, Chelseas strikers alone last season
managed 19 premier league goals between them, costa already has xx! How much
of a impact do you think costa has had on Chelsea this season? This always has
seemed to be a problem for Chelsea over the last few seasons hasnt it? Not having
a striker scoring 20+ goals a season.
Likely Response:
A: Well 19 goals between 3 strikers in the premier league
isnt good enough for a club like Chelsea, costa is the
reason they are where they are.
B: well he already has xx goals, I think costa has answered
a lot of their players and actually now have someone with a
real resilience in front of goal which they have lacked over
the past few seasons.
Next Question: We talk about Costa, but the person who has really made them tick
as a team is Fabregas, xx assists already in the league, how much of a difference
do you think he has made?

Likely Response:
A: well he has made them tick hasnt he, that class that
can bring others into play, find pockets of space and play
that killer pass
B: well all you have to do is watch fabregas for Chelsea this
season and see his relationship with Costa, there made for
eachother.

Next Question: So to conclude, Chelsea or City?

Likely Response:
A: Chelsea
B: Chelsea

Production Booklet

Question: well thats covered then! Weve mentioned the title race, Chelsea in
particular, now the battle for top 4, it happends every season and champions
league is so important to the top teams in terms of revenue, who can you see taking
3rd and 4th?

Likely Response:
A: well united 3rd I think, and between Arsenal and Spurs
for 4th,
B: its very hard to say but with their quality in attack I think
united are up their, and its a toss up between Liverpool
Tottenham and arsenal, and cant forget Southampton too!

Next Question: Southampton have shocked us all this season, manager goes, key
players leave, new manager comes in and new players come in, who ever expected
them to be this good?

Likely Response:
A: theyve been brilliant so far and koeman has done a
amazing job, to lose all those players and bounce back how
they have deserves some credit.
B: people were tipping them for relegation, now their
competing for champions league football, its amazing what
can happen in football

Next Question: do you think they can still go on this form for the remainder of the
season? There has been a lot of doubters saying they can slip

Likely Response:
A: well to be honest yeah they can slip, but weve been
saying this since October and they still havnt but we will
see.
B: I think if Tadic or Schneiderlin get injured it could play a
big part as Southampton dont have a massive squad, this
all depends on player fitness.

Production Booklet

Question: Do you think the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal will stand a
better chance then?

Likely Response:
A: well yeah, they have more quality in their squad, I think with
Sanchez for Arsenal and Kane for Tottenham they have one player
who is in a rich vein of form which is good for both teams.
B: I think either one of those teams will but I couldnt possibly say, it
all depends on form of the teams but Wenger has a record for getting
it every year, could this be the year he doesnt? im not sure

Next Question: Do Liverpool miss that one who can do something special? Like a
Suarez, with spurs having Kane and Eriksen, Arsenal and Sanchez, do you think
this could not be liverpools year and may miss out?

Likely Response:
A: possibly, they have missed that one player, but sturridge
could be like a brand new player for them if they get him fit.
B: Sturrridge could be big for us, if he can come back and
hit form like last season then it will certainly boost their
chances, but I think maybe sturridge will miss someone to
play with where he had Suarez last season

Next Question: Weve covered Arsenal, Tottenham Southampton and the Title race,
But what do you make on Manchester United this season? Van Gaal has made big
additions this season having spent 150 Million, Adam as a united fan, are they
returning to the old United side that we have seen for so long?
James?

Likely Response:
A: well I certainly think united are returning to that way, I
think some of the times united do play quite slow and are
inconsistent, but they are getting their
B: I think in a couple years time they will definitely be a
much better side, their attack they have is amazing.

Production Booklet

Question: With Rooney, Van Persie, Di Maria and Falcoa, united do surely have a
unbelievable attack, but with only xx goals for Van Perise and xx goals for Falcoa.
Surely for a club like united this isnt good enough is it when you look at those
players?

Likely Response:
A: Yes I would say so, Di Maria Started well and added a
lot of pace to United, a lot of flair, something they lacked.
Falcoa hasnt really done as of yet and RVP hasnt been
the same player, I think Rooney has been very consistant
for them this season.

Next Question: under moyes last season its fair to say that United didnt play well, it
was a different united side, and it cleary didnt work for him, united havnt been
brilliant this season but sit in X place, do you think Van Gaal can restore the glory
days at old Trafford?

Likely Response:
A: yeah I think so, the football hasnt been brilliant, but they
seem to be getting results.
B: I think they will be there come this point at the end of the
season.

Next Question: Well thank you guys, thanks for joining us, you can join us next
week at the same time where we are joined by Alan Shearer and Matt Le Tissier!
See you next time

Interview Style for Interview One

What will your interview style be? (formal, informal and chatty, intense, questioning,
argumentative, friendly, jokey)
Our interview can be a mix between, chatty, questioning, and jokey as we will be asking questions
about football, but of the script a joke or two may be made, our show will be informal as we are
talking normally about football, and chatting about what has happened in the football world.

Why have you chosen that style?

We have chosen that style because we feel it suits our show best, we will be asking questions so
therefore this style suits our show well as we will be mentioning football and these are good
conventions needed for a football show I find, the audience wants to be entertained and informed
of their opinions and this also can create a good convocation for others watching the show

Production Booklet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fS-W6RIdCEk

as you can see above I have used screenshots of Goals on Sunday and Soccer AM which are two
football shows that will be similar to mine in terms of the concept and content and lay out. The first
screenshot which is goals on Sunday has the same lay out and this is the type of body language
that will be similar to Extra Time, with two sofas and looking integed into what eachother is sayin.
Soccer AM is also like this as the interview styling will look like this with two sofas and the guest
on the right.

Add research of other interview/chat shows where the presenter has a similar style. You can insert
another page here for your research.
Match of the Day MOTD has a similar style to our programme, where there is a topic of
discussion, such as a football result, in which the host Gary Linekar will ask question to the pundits
on what they think for example. Its similar look to ours aswell as similar style of questions are
asked with similar responses. VTs and a on location shoot also features in this.

What will happen in the first segment?

In the first segment of our production we will be doing our introduction summarising what is going in the
show. Adam and James will be questioned on Chelsea talking about the title race and key additions of
fabregas and costa. Will cut to a VT of callum on location in Chelsea, with him interviewing fans. Which
includes videos on Chelsea.

What will happen in the second segment?

In this segment the key feature will be the race for top 4, including discussions on Arsenal, Liverpool,
Tottenham and Man United. Questions such as who will make the top 4 will be asked and oppinions will be
given. Also in this segment a VT will be included on the top 4.

What will happen in the third segment?

In this section there will be final summaries on what we have asked, and a phone call with Micheal Dubbery
where ben is taking this section.

Any further notes;

Production Booklet

Production Booklet

Using your mind map, answer the following questions.

What will the presentation style be? (formal, informal and chatty)

Our presentation style will be a mix between the two, informal and chatty. Our presentation style will be like
this because I will be asking questions in a formal style, but also then we are chatty and discuss and
debate opinions to what our guests have said

Add research of other interview/chat shows where the presenter has a similar style.

Our interview can be a mix between, chatty, questioning, and jokey as we will be asking questions
about football, but of the script a joke or two may be made, our show will be informal as we are
talking normally about football, and chatting about what has happened in the football world.

We have chosen this style because we feel it suits our show best, we will be asking questions so
therefore this style suits our show well as we will be mentioning football and these are good
conventions needed for a football show I find, the audience wants to be entertained and informed
of their opinions and this also can create a good convocation for others watching the show. This is
a very similar presenting styles to ours as we do not want to come across too serious, as if we are
just coming having a chat about football but come up with really professional points that you would
see in football punditary such as people like Ed Chamberlain and Gary Neville.

Production Booklet

Define the visual style of your show.

The visual style of our show will look very sporty, it will be set as if its a breakfast sport show, so the show
will look bright, and also we intend on having breakfast props on the table such as orange juice and
croissants.

This is a similat setting to how we are having ours but with a different lay out of table, as you can see there
are guests and breakfast items on the table with plates and croissants, and a jar of a orange juice.

Stick in relevant images of previous shows, interiors you would like to emulate, lighting style etc.

Links
How will you link each interview to each other?
(You may use cut aways to clips of them doing something relevant. Remember you will all be
swapping roles so you may not be able to film live at this point.)

Link between interview 1 and Interview 2

In the first interview Chelsea will be the key aspect, in which after our 1st segment will then lead into
Callum in location at Chelsea, as the link between Chelsea carrys over to Callum at Chelsea

Link between interview 2 and Interview 3

After Chelsea we will then make the link between the race for the title to the race for top 4 talk about
the race for top 4 which will include Tottenham, liverpoool, arsenal and Man United, which each team
will be specifically talked about, then we will link from one team to another that are all in the race.

Link between interview 3 and Interview 4

Once talking about the race for the top 4 we mention teams having that one player who can make a
difference such as Kane and Sanchez and how much of a difference these players can make which
will then show a VT of the two players

Link between interview 4 and Interview 5

Theres no link in this but we link back to Chelsea with a phone call with Michael Dubury
