more we practice, the easier they become.

1. New Sight Words: Introduce

- Play, not
- Can anyone use one or both of these new words in a sentence?
2. Sight Word Quick Video
- Students will watch a short video highlighting some of the sight words we will be
reviewing today
3. Sight Word Matching Game
- Each child will get a different letter card, with the name of a sight word at the top
of the card. Their job is to find the other student(s) in the class who have the other
pieces of their word. Once the students have found their other matches, we will go
over the words. We will do a few quick rounds of this matching activity to get the
students even more familiar with the words.
4. Sight Word Centers
- The class will rotate through four different sight word review centers:
a. Discovering and writing sight words they see inside a water bottle filled with
rice (What sight words can we identify under the rice?)
b. Coloring and following directions to reveal a hidden sight word
c. Completing sight word practice pages (writing, tracing, coloring, cutting, etc.)
d. Rolling a sight word (rolling a die and matching the number with the sight
word to write)
5. Review/Wrap up on the rug
- Using flashcards, we will review the words we went over today.
- Who can recall what our two new sight words were today?
- Can anyone explain or describe some of the ways we can review our sight words
at home?
5. Assessment:

- Sight word review on the rug
6. Management Issues, Transitions, and Differentiation:
