Accommodation
Mysore: New Sharada Resorts (located about 9 kms. from railway station and
government bus stand).
Madikeri, Coorg: Primary accommodation is Aalaya Home stay. Alternate
accommodation is Venkateshwara Residency.
(Note: Since Aalaya home stay does not have many double rooms, we have made
provision for rooms at Venkateshwara Residency for those who would prefer to have
own room for self and spouse.)

Itinerary
Day 01 - 2nd February
Meet in Mysore. You will be picked up from train/bus station in a pre-arranged vehicle.
The vehicle will be available for pick-up service from morning till evening/night. This
will work out cheaper than individuals or pairs taking taxi/auto rickshaw from the
bus/rail stations.
Day free to do as you please depending on your time of arrival into Mysore. If you
would like to do some sightseeing, Viswas will help you arrange transportation.
In the evening, Verdurez meeting of introductions and update.
Later, enjoy a rain dance and gather around a camp fire for drinks before dinner.
The hotel offers following facilities:
Games like badminton and volleyball (free). Billiard (chargeable).
Use of swimming pool (free).
Day 02 - 3rd February
Leave for Madikeri after breakfast at Mysore
En route, visit Gomatagiri and Golden Temple at Bylekuppe
Reach Madikeri by afternoon
Check in and lunch at guesthouse
Relax for a while and leave in the evening for Raja Seat
Attend Musical Fountain (if the show is on)
Visit Mariamma Temple
Return to guesthouse
Dinner at guesthouse around camp fire
Day 03 - 4th February
Breakfast at guesthouse
Leave for Dubare Elephant Camp
Cross River Cauvery in a boat or raft (Note: Some waiting may be involved. On

average, each boat carries about 20 to 25 people. After reaching the other side, if
there is rush on the first side, the boat will come back straight away to pick-up
passengers and go to the other side. If there is little rush, the boat will wait for
passengers to collect on the other side and then return.)
Visit Dubare Elephant Camp: Elephant interaction program, bathing elephant, feeding
elephant, elephant ride
Rafting at Farm (Note: Those who wish to do adventure rafting like toppling should
carry change of clothes. Basic changing room facility is available)
Proceed to Nisarghadhama
Have Lunch at Nisargadhama (Buffet lunch from guesthouse)
Sightseeing at Nisarghadhama
Return to Madikeri. Enroute visit Chicklihole Reservoir. (Note: the condition of the road
leading to Chicklihole is not up to the mark. Also officially, entry is not permitted. But
we will make an effort to see in case the staff is willing to let us go up the reservoir
dam. There is a short climb to the dam, through a gap in the fencing)
Return to guesthouse by evening
Dinner around camp fire at the guesthouse
Day 04 - 5th February
Breakfast at guesthouse
Leave for Bhagmandala; visit Bhagamandala Temple
Visit Sangama (you can have holy bath here, if interested)
Leave for Thalacauvery; visit Thalacauvery Temple
Trek uphill to Brahmagiri Hills (Note: Those who cannot walk or have physical
restrictions can take rest at the base of the hill in the temple premises and enjoy the
scenery around.)
Lunch at Bhagamandala (either packed lunch or buffet from Guesthouse)
(Note: At Bhagamandal and Talacauvery, to enter the temple premises, male devotees
have to wear dhoti. Female devotees need to wear sari or wrap a dhothi around their
waist in case they are in any other dress. Clothing that exposes body parts,
shorts/bermudas, jeans are not allowed. Those who dont have own dhoti can hire one
at the temple premises. Those who wish to have holy bath in the river Cauvery at
Bhagamandala and/or at Thalacauvery shoul carry change of clothes. Basic changing
room facilities are available at both the places.)

Return to Madikeri
Visit Abbey Falls (Note: larger vehicles are permitted only up to a point to Abbey falls.
From there, we will be travelling by jeep.)
Return to guesthouse
Dinner around camp fire at guesthouse
Day 05 - 6th February
Breakfast at guesthouse
Leave for Mandalpatti (Note: Only four wheel drive jeep can go to Mandalpatti so we
will be travelling in a jeep.)
Visit Pushpagiri Forest Range
Return to Madikeri. En route visit the local weekly market that takes place on Fridays
Return to Guesthouse for Lunch
After Lunch leave for Madikeri
Visit Rajas Tomb
Visit Madikeri Fort, Palace and Museum
Visit Omkareshwara Temple
Time for shopping
Return to guesthouse
Dinner around camp fire at guesthouse
Day 06 - 7th February
Breakfast at Guesthouse
Leave for Mysore
Reach Mysore by afternoon

IN ADVANCE your dietary preference. We will work out a menu which will be
shared with you. We will be making all efforts to stick to this menu. However,
there may be some variations depending on the availability of vegetables,
meat, poultry etc. Madikeri being a hill station some items either take time to
be procured or may not be available.
We will also be providing local cuisine as part of the menu.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be buffet.
During sightseeing, as per the need, either packed lunch will be provided or
buffet will be arranged at the place of visit.
Short eats, snacks, munches to go with alcoholic drinks is not included in this
cost and will be charged as per the items ordered. Advance notice is required
for making short eats.
Clean drinking water will be provided. If you wish to have bottled drinking
water, you will have to buy at own cost.

Transportation

Mysore pick-up service: Pre-arranged vehicle.


Mysore-Coorg-Mysore: 21-seater, non a/c, pushback seat, minibus. No a/c
buses are available as they are all booked for the Sabrimala festival which will
be taking place at the time. The weather will be cool and pleasant so non a/c
minibus will be comfortable.

Weather
In Coorg, during the first week of February, mornings and nights tend to be cool and
and the afternoons are pleasantly warm and comfortable. Mornings are also very
misty and dewy. People usually wear medium to heavy warm clothing.
In Mysore, the weather tends to be comfortably cool in the mornings and evenings
and warm in the afternoons.

Cost
Rs. 9,000 per person if you choose to stay in the primary accommodation in Coorg
(Aalaya home stay)
Rs. 13,000 per person if you choose to stay in the secondary accommodation in Coorg
(Venkateshwara Residency) which has double rooms
PLUS cost of Mysore accommodation depending on the type of room you choose (see
below)

Note 1:
We have not included entrance fees in the package cost as past experience tells us
that everyone is not interested in seeing all sightseeing places on the itinerary. If you
choose to sit out or just stay in the vehicle, you don't need to pay the entrance fee.

River Cauvery crossing in boat or raft (Usually the ferry charges are Rs. 30 per
person to and fro. However, if the water level is low as it might be in February,
then we have to use raft and then the charges go up to Rs. 100 per head to and
fro. But then when water level is low one can also walk across the river on
boulders.)
River water rafting (Rs. 200 per person for half an hour)

Coorg Accommodation
Primary accommodation (Aalaya home stay) has a combination of 2, 3, 4 and 6 bed
accommodation. Total beds available at this guesthouse is 45.
Secondary accommodation (Venkateshwara Residency) has 50 deluxe double rooms.

Booking Mysore journey


1. When booking your arrival into Mysore, please try and reach Mysore by early
evening so that you are present for the introduction and update meeting.
2. For departure from Mysore, please book afternoon or evening train/bus to allow
enough time to reach Mysore from Madikeri, Coorg in the morning of the last
day.
