Personal Statement:
A passionate and highly motivated Writtle College graduate studying Animal Management
and Wildlife Conservation. I have a wide range of hands on animal experiences, varying
from farm livestock management to wildlife rescues as well as being knowledgeable in lab
based work and research studies. I have successfully combined higher education
alongside work and other commitments, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and
organisational skills. I possess excellent verbal communication skills, working in a team,
alongside customers and presenting powerpoints to large audiences. I am looking for a
conservation based career where I can bring both my animal knowledge and presentation
skills together in order to educate the public on conserving habitat and the species within
them.

Work Experience:
April 2012- Present Tescos (Customer Assistant)
The job entails working in a fast paced environment often under pressure. Duties involve
working within a team to get the stock on display whilst providing friendly customer
assistance and advice consequently building strong positive relationships both with
customers and staff.
2011-2012- Essex Wildlife Trust (Volunteer)
The job had two main roles working within the visitor centre and out on the reserve with
the work party. I adapted to both roles depending on what was needed. The visitor centre
duties involved cleaning, stock counts, advertising events and booking events over the
phone. The work party duties involved repair of fences, working with machinery and
building hides for species such as hedgehogs.
All of my work experiences have involved working within a team-based culture. This
involved key communication, planning and organisation as well as problem solving. In
retail this ensured daily sales target were met and a level of high quality customer care.
Skills:
Research Dissertation- A wide range of research carried out varying from books, journals
and the internet.
Computer Skills- Knowledge and experience of Windows 7 and 8 using MS Word,
Powerpoint and Excel. Also can form and receive emails and access the internet.
Driving- Current clean full driving license.
Interests:
I enjoy travelling and exploring other countries and keeping up to date on current animal
related issues. I am a member of Writtle College Animal Society and attend social events
in order to raise money for charity.
