Progress Memo
The general idea of my narrative literacy is explaining my interest and non-interest in
reading and how it influence me to be a better reader and writer today. In my narrative literacy I
will be explaining different periods of my life where I was influenced to read, periods of my life
where I was not interested in reading and the reasons why I have this notion towards reading.
There were many different sponsors who changed the way I felt towards books and other types
of literacy.
Throughout my life I had many sponsors influence me to read and get more into different
types of readings such as comic books, magazines, etc. One of the sponsors that made me more
interested in reading is NickJr. They used cartoons and entertainment to make reading more
amusing and knowledgeable at the same time. This is only one of many sponsors that I will be
getting more into detail in my narrative. In my narrative, I will talk in detail about how many
different sponsors made a major impact in different periods of my life.
There will be an explanation of the many different literacy sources at different points in
my life to better describe how it made me become a different type of reader. These sources will
be in sections throughout my life, some made a big impact of my life and some did not. A couple
of my sources and sponsors coincide with one another for example, Michael Jordan is one of my
sponsors and the book that is based on his life Salt in His Shoes is the source. These two played

a big part in my literacy narrative and made a huge discrete early on in my life that altered the
way I looked at reading, I will explain more briefly in my narrative.
