Abstract
In this research, A single effect adsorption cooling system using
activated carbon-methanol pair was studied. The adsorber is cylindrical
double copper tube. An evaporator and condenser are combind. This design
system cold solves leak problem, and all measurement was done at
adsorber evaporator/condenser wall. The activated carbon was mixed with
copper powder to incuse its thermal conductivity. This adsorption system
provided cooling temperature about 40C to 100C at the evaporator, using
800C to 1000C heat source temperature. The coefficient of performance
(COP) was 0.121, the volumetric cooling capacity (VCP) was 0.306
m3/Wh. and specific cooling power (SCP) was 52.54 W/kg.
