Its the Kindness that Matters

Mother Theresa was born in South Yugoslavia who came to
Calcutta at age 18 to pursue her dream of helping the poorest of
poor. She was a nun in Loreto Convent; they were teaching
students who also want to be a nun. One time they went outside
the convent and ride a public train. Mother Theresa has seen an
old man begging to get water because he was thirsty. It touches
her heart and badly wanted to help them but cant do anything.
She asks permission to leave the convent and she was granted.
Mother Theresa starts by giving food to poor people living in the
slum. She taught the children in the slum to read and write. She
continues her mission of helping the poor and the less fortunate.
What does it mean to be a human? We are probably having no
doubt that we are a human; we only knew that life is to live and
to survive. But for me to be a human is to be a person in the
likeliness of God. We are created as a person in his own hands
and what makes us different from any other things is that only
human can know and love the creator. He made us to live and
belong to his creations. To love one another, accept what needs
to be accepted, forgive things with your whole heart and to be
able to sin. Human are created with both spirit and matter, we
are rational and free, we are capable of passions or feeling, and
blessed with conscience.
In this world where poverty are very common, we are needing
one another to feel that we belong to someone else and to be with
someone you know you can go to when you had enough of your
problems. Humans are planted in the desire of relationships; we
are always tempted to take the side where we can gather love,
care, and happiness that make our spirit and soul warm. When we
had enough solitude we need someone to encourage and tell us that
everything is in the hands of God. Human beings need to be
encouraged to make decisions and choices and to become
responsible for their own lives and for the lives of other.
Why do we feel wrenching compassion when we see an orphaned
child walking in the alley begging for money and food, or an
animal whimpering in pain? Why do we do charitable actions? What
gives us the powerful urge to send gift of money or clothes to
tsunami victims on the other side of the world whom we'll never

meet and who are highly unlikely to return the favor to us? It is
because we are blessed with genuine conscience and the ability to
have the knowledge of being good.
Mother Theresa has a huge impact in me. She taught me that
always help the poor people and the less fortunate. Im very
lucky to have clothes on me, house to live in and education and
giving a small piece of bread and water was just a small part of
things that I have. I also learned that if its not your
responsibility to help someone then make it your responsibility.
We need one another because not everyone was given the
opportunity to have a better life. In the end of the day, only
kindness matter.
