Self- Assessment of Science fair Projects

To better help your growth as a student and to help you see how you
did on your science fair project fill out this brief handout.
1) The scientific method is made up of a number of steps the first
one is an Idea/Problem. Did you project continue to reflect on it
throughout? Rate it on a scale of 1 (least) -5 (best).
2) Was your hypothesis, and If Then statement? For example If
we take three of the same plants and water each of them
different amounts of water for the span of two weeks then we
believe that the one we water the most will grow the most. Was
your hypothesis a testable question?

3) Experiment- did the experiment for your project test your

hypothesis, how so? And did you actually do an experiment?

4) Data Analysis- Did you show your results of your experiment on a

graph or table? Were you able to interpret/understand your
results correctly and were you able to fix your mistakes and re-do
the experiment if you had to or if the time allowed?

5) Conclusion- was your final result directly connected to your idea

and hypothesis? Were you able to present your findings or
mistakes in a proper way on your poster, and when you were
interviewed, or when you had to talk to parents or other
students?
