Lead one large group discussion (10 points):
Iloveddoingthis,becauseIamalwaysfascinatedbywhatmypeershavetosayonasubject.Especially
whenwehavetheoptiontomakeitcontroversial.Thisisagreatexercise.Ifeelgoodaboutmyguided
discussion.IthinkthatIwasabletogettheclassinvolvedinanimportantdialogue.However,Ididntget
themtodirectlyengagethetextasmuchasIwouldlike.
Individual Assignments (40 points):
Philosophy of Teaching Statement (20 points):
Thiswasreallychallenging.I
struggledwiththis,andstilldonotbelievethatmineincorporatesmydeep,unshakablefoundationof
beliefregardingeducation.Ifeelsopassionateaboutpedagogyandtheinfrastructureandrelationships
thatinfluenceit.Iwillcertainlykeepreflectingonthisandwillbecontinuallyrewritingit.Iamgladwe
didthis,andIamgladwereadoneanother'sstatements.Thankyouforpointingouttheelementthat
makesusunique.Myonlysuggestioninthisregardwouldbetoscaffolditabitmoresothatweknow
howtobegin.Ihonestlydon'tknowhowyouwoulddothis.Ithinkthattheanalysisandsynthesisofthe
ThisIbelieveessaysisagreatstart.Isupposemaybeaskeletonoutlinetogetusstarted?I'mnotreally
sureifthatwouldhelp,Iamjustthrowingthingsoutthere.
Mini-Lesson (20 points): I think that I could have done better with this. I think that I would have liked to
have practiced it so that I could have successfully executed the time management. Other than that, I feel
good about it.

I really think that all three of my group members and I engaged
in really meaningful and productive conversation.
Work with Co-Teaching/Co-Planning (10 points):
I should have directly collaborated more with
Lauren as her topic correlated with mine. I took their feedback into account, but I didnt label it as
much as I should have in my unit plan.

Yearlong plan (105 points):


Along with the unit plan, this is probably the most beneficial element of my education courses. This helps
me to figure out what to teach. I feel as though teaching is primarily about relationships, and that
classroom

management and pedagogy all coincide with this concept. Thankfully, I have an easy time building
relationships with my students. But I have always struggled with what I am supposed to teach them,
rather
than how. I think that formative assessments, intuitive and observation based lesson planning, and having
a
rapport with your students informs lesson planning on a day to day basis. However, I was uncertain as to
how to incorporate these strategies and skills into a curriculum. This gives me a base of knowledge on
how
to do that. I still do not feel as though my YLP was indicative of my best work, but it gives me a starting
place and opportunities for growth.
Unit plan (100 points):
I tried really hard on this one, and I still have some many things that I would like to change, but I feel
proud of this initial effort.
