Counseling programs should be more public about their programs and how
they benefit women that have been abused. "I think it's even harder for teens to get
out of an abusive relationship than adult women," but we can solve this by being
more public in schools, in order to teach young adults about the problem of
domestic violence (Nifong). It is an even bigger problem in teenagers, because they
see it happening in their own household and then they think it is alright if they are
abusive to their girlfriends. By teaching teenagers about abusive relationships we
can set the tone for relationships and understanding of relationships for the rest of
their lives."(Merritt). This also can help prevent domestic violence by setting new
morals about domestic violence.
With help from various programs, the growing problem of domestic violence
can be stopped. Programs need to work harder to put info out to the public about
the issue of domestic violence. This will help prevent future domestic violence
throughout our society.
