Garde, Gab Final Project Ishak, Jason Paz, Miqaella Timtiman, Nukie Film title: 7 gates Death is a concept feared most by humans for the reason that many of us have this thought of the absolute end of existence we die. To cater to this need of easing our fear, humans have created a concept of the afterlife so that there may be an assurance of still being able to continue to exist even after death. Although the creation of the concept of afterlife was born out of this one goal, there is no such thing as a universal image and beliefs with regards to the afterlife since we humans are so diverse in a way that we tend to be grouped according to our different cultures. And it is because of this reason that various interpretations, images and beliefs in the afterlife are present. The groups film entitled 7 gates is an output created to illustrate to us two cultures that, to the group, present the most interesting takes on the afterlife the Catholic and the Egyptian culture. The film begins with three UP students pressured about their Anthropology video project because of the fact that the deadline is fast approaching and they are still not progressing. Everything was centered towards the intensity of finishing the project until came this one group meeting that shackled the lives of both Jason and David. Jason brought a gun in the site and from out of nowhere just cracked a joke about it. And David, annoyed by Jasons ignorance of what is at stake for the project, attempted to get the gun from Jason, accidentally pulling the trigger and directly shooting Gab in the process. Realizing that they killed their groupmate, the two started freaking out. And although they are presented with the agony of becoming delinquents, they still managed to be concerned of their deceased groupmate by wondering where he might have gone. The remaining scenes that follow depict Gabs soul wandering both in the context of Jason and Davids ideas of Egyptian and Catholic images of the afterlife. The group acknowledges the fact that the topic we had is dark and sensitive and that is why we decided to present these hypothetical things that happen to us humans when we die in the lightest and most creative way possible by still being informative and illustrative at the same time.
