At the conclusion of this lesson, the students will know/understand that:
Students will be able to discuss, share and evaluate ideas and information regarding childrens rights
At the conclusion of this lesson, the students will demonstrate the skills/strategies of:
Forming a discussion regarding information they listened to in the video. Students will also be capable of speaking
about their chosen right.
Assessment:
The Childs right posters and observing how well the students listened throughout the video by presenting some
rights they heard on the video.
Assessment criteria for analysis:
I will be looking for a neat and clear idea of the child right presented on their posters. Students must state in bold the
right they are fighting for. With bright colours and expression across the page.
Teaching focus:

the pre-service teacher's teaching skill for observation by Associate Teacher;

teaching skills that the pre-service teacher would like to personally develop.
Making sure the students are listening and reading before I start speaking.

Lesson content:

Introduction

Tuning in with the video and asking students to, Listen for 5 rights they hear spoken about within the video

Development

Ask students to present the Child rights they heard from the video. One Right each and continue around the room
until everyone has spoken about every right heard in the video.

Why are rights important?
Why are child rights important?

Groups are to stand up at their tables and show their poster and say why this right would be important
