Week

Eleven
During the eleventh week of my internship, I drafted a press release and drafted a pitch for two clients
upcoming events.

Pitch (email)

Dear [Reporter],
Good morning! I work with Ingleside Retirement Communities, a group of non-profit retirement
communities in the Washington, D.C. area. Were gearing up for our spring cooking demos and
would love for you to sit in on our judge panel and taste a different side of the food industry.
These demos, prepared by the executive chefs and nutritionists of two Ingleside communities,
allow gourmands of Washington, D.C. to rest assured that retirement does not mean sacrificing a
high standard of food.

Executive Chefs Pierre Matsandakis and Rebecca Keller will prepare A Taste of the Americas
themed menus, highlighting North, Central, South and Meso American cuisines.
Keller, a graduate from the Florida Culinary Institute, is no stranger to southern fare. She will be
cooking at Ingleside at Rock Creek on April 22 at 1 p.m. Matsandakis, a graduate of the College
des Beaux Arts in Lille, France, has cooked his way across the globe with experience at the Caf du
Rhone in Paris and the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. He will cook at Ingleside at King Farm
on May 20 at 1 p.m.

The demos are expected to take 45 minutes to an hour and judges will receive recipe cards after
the events. Please respond by [date] to RSVP. We look forward to hearing from you!
