Zambia is still a developing country because of the high ratio of infants to elderly
people. Japan is a highly developed country because of its disproportionately elderly population.
Zambias small population, suggested by the use of numbers as opposed to percentages,
supports its low level of development.

1. Chinas population is on the decline as a result of the 1 child policy and will most likely have a
massive population of elderly people that wont be able to be taken care of by the younger
generation.
2. Chinas population will decrease because the 1 child policy wont allow families to replace the
existing generation, and it will most likely cause a surplus of jobs.

3. Germanys population rapidly decreased from 1980 to 2000

4. Germanys population of women above 80 outweigh the men because of WW2

5. Indias population is on a slight decrease


6. After the 50-54 years range, the population rapidly decreases

7. South Africas population greatly declines after 60


8. South Africas male population outweighs the womens between 30 and 74

9. The United States Baby Boomer age hasnt fully replaced, so the population is on a slight
decline
10. After 65, the population drops rapidly, but still has a population in the millions after 100+

India's population pyramid stays largely the same, growing larger as the population increases,
indicating a lack of change in culture. India will suffer from the same problems it is currently
suffering from unless they can get better education, water supply, and food sources in order to
support the massive population India will one day hold. Women do not seem to be outwardly
discriminated against because the population of young women to young men is the same,
indicating that while Indian men like having sons, and it taxes a woman's body, there is no
indication that there is true favoritism towards a son.

3. A rate shows how many people per amount of people have the effect. For example, crude
birth rates are based upon every thousand births of children.
4. Niger has the highest at 49.8, while Japan has the lowest at 8.2
5. Sierra Leone has the highest infant mortality rate at 107.2, while Luxembourg is the lowest at
1.6.
6. Niger has the highest fertility rate at 7.6, Taiwan is the lowest with 1.1
7. India and China have the youngest population. Japan has the oldest population in the world.

8. Japan has the highest life expectancy. Angola has the lowest life expectancy.
9. Reunion has the highest concentration of urbanization in Africa. Puerto Rico is the most
urbanized in Latin America. Qatar and Bahrain have the highest urban population in Asia.
Iceland is the highest in Europe. Guam is the highest of Oceania.
10. Qatar is the wealthiest based on the GNI PPP with China Macao SAR coming in second.
11. Highest natural rate of increase is Eastern and Western Africa, while the lowest is Eastern
and Southern Europe.
12. Ukraine is the lowest while Niger is the highest.
13. Projected populations, and the 2050 population along with the stats following it.
14. India, China, U.S., Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Dem. Rep. of the
Congo, Ethiopia. Japan, Russia, fall off the top ten, while Congo and Ethiopia are added. There
aren't a whole lot of major shifts, countries move a little bit, but the top 3 are the same, Pakistan
gets into the top 5.
