Classroom Management Plan

1. Courses you would like to teach:

The courses I would like to teach are strength and conditioning. As well as strength and conditioning
with athletic emphasis. For all grade levels.

2. Classroom Structure

A. General Floor Plan: (Sketch or link a drawing)

a. The blank white spaces are weight racks. These racks are used for squats, bench,
power cleans, and pull ups. Each rack will have two or three students at it.
b. The red squares are combination weight equipment. They are pulley systems for latpull downs and seated rows. (Weight room exercises)
c. The blue circles are back extension machines.
d. The yellow box is an Audio system.
e. The thin pink box is a whiteboard behind teacher desk.
f. The green boxes are kettle bells and dumbbells.
g. The black boxes are doorways. The one near the teachers desk leads to water and
locker rooms.
h. The large aqua colored box is an open area used for body weight exercises and
abdominal exercises.
3. Classroom Expectations
A. Posted Classroom rules: (based on our notes)
1. Absolutely NO horseplay!!

2. Keep it clean. No food, glass bottles, etc..

3. Make sure area is clean of equipment before lifting.
4. Make eye contact and be aware of your surroundings.
5. Protect your back.
Head up, buttocks down, spread the chest, lock in lower back. Use belt when
necessary.
6. Never interfere with a lifter.
7. Be a good spotter! Concentrate on lifter.
8. Help clean up when lifting is over.
9. Encourage and help each other succeed.
10. Respect and make partner more successful.
B. How the classroom rules will be taught:
1. I will model and instruct the rules before each of the students.
C. How will you TEACH one of your routines?
1. I will teach them to enter the weight room and go into the locker room and dress out
for P.E. After they dress out they will line up accordingly based on alphabetical order of their last
name. This way when it is time to take role I wont waste any time by searching for students.
D. What will be your pre-correction reminders?
1. Making sure students are doing the proper lift and the appropriate time. As well as
doing the proper lift the students should be doing appropriate weight. They will know this weight
based on their max weight they can lift. If they are lifting the proper weight the percentage of them
getting hurt will decrease tremendously. If they dont abide by the rules of proper form and doing the
proper lift will be when students get hurt.
2. The students must also respect and not make fun of a person because of the weight they
can or cannot lift. Helpful hints and reminders of respect and encouragement will be necessary for
students to accomplish goals in the weight room.
E. What will be your correction procedures? (Fully develop this to include all steps including
the point that you would ask them to leave the room and procedures for that)
1. Start with the pre correction reminders.
2. If they student(s) are not following the simple rules of the weight room I will have a
conversation with them individually. Discussing how their behavior is inappropriate to the other
students and disrespectful to the room.

3. If the student is still acting up I will ask them to stop and do as the rules say or go see the
principal or administration. If they choose to leave my class I will let the proper authority know
that they should be expecting a student to be stopping by for a visit. OR to come get the
student from my classroom so no other issues occur.
4. I cannot leave my class because it may lead to other issues and a disadvantage for the
students who are trying to learn and become better students.
F. What will be your record keeping system?
I will have written documents of every incident that occurs in my classroom. The
document will state the date, students name, cause of the issue, other authorities name on the sheet,
and parents names and numbers on there. This way when and if a situation would arise that we need
clarification on the situation, I have it all written down.

G. What will be your follow up procedures?

1. Discuss with student(s) about the incident and tell them I want them to be apart of my
class each and every day they are in school. I will also remind them of the simple rules and make
sure that both of us are on the same page.
4. Description of policies
A. Homework Policy
1. Homework will be due in a timely manor for the students. The homework should be
done on the specific date that is assigned. Homework may include watching a video online,
writing a page paper on lifting or nutrition, or filming them doing a certain workout.
B. Late-work Policy
1. Students can turn in their assignments for partial credit within two days of its due
date.
B. Tardy
1. If you are tardy it has to be later than 3 minutes after the bell rings. If you come into my
class after that you need a note from a teacher or administrator.
D. Clothes & Dress
1. Dress code for P.E. is a school color t-shirt and shorts. Also you need tennis shoes.
Sandals and fancy shoes do not count for proper attire.
E. Candy & Gum
No food is allowed in the weight room. That includes candy and gum. It is a choking
hazard when working out.

F. Make up Work
Make up work can be done if a student misses a class period. I have many different
topics for the students to write a one page paper on to receive full credit for the days they are absent
for my class. I only allow ten papers per year. They will be able to find the topics on my teacher web
page.
