HEAD NURSING INSIGHTS

On our first duty at Bataan General Hospital Pay Ward, I have my

enjoyable experience on our duty.
At first I am nervous and a bit exited because I will soon become a head
nurse and lead my classmates, Im afraid that I may commit mistakes
and there is a feeling of confusion in some points in my duty days like
how to delegate my classmates because they know that we are just like
classmates if they will agree to be led by me, but then I felt happiness
and enjoyed being a leader, we do endorsement on our duty nurse at the
station. At first I thought that we will just create nursing care plans on
our notebook but we do real charting.
STAFF NURSING INSIGHTS
As a staff nurse I can say that it is a fun experience because it was our
first duty at the pay ward but being a staff nurse needs lot cooperation in
order to make the hospital circulation flow and thanks to our head nurses
that helps us and guides us when we need help and assistance. I also
experienced carrying out doctors order and making a request for
laboratory, sending patients for diagnostic procedures like X-ray and CT
scan. Somehow I think I was able to decode the doctors handwriting.
I experienced taking the intake and output of the patients accurately,
doing bladder training and wound dressing of the patients. And one thing
that I enjoyed the most is being an advocate to my patients in order to
help then in their fast recovery. I want to thank my clinical instructors
Maam Norma and Maam Flor Sy for guiding us and teaching us in our
everyday duty.
